Assassin's Creed meets Middle Earth. I'm a picky player and most games I get tend to be taunting me by taking my money and being just a quick beat or really bad story line. Unlike most this has a unique system where enemies gain level and rank if they smack ya around with a foam bat of doom. Rent it, like it? Then buy it? I rarely give current games a 4 out of 5 rating.

Good game overall. Not much weapon customization and game is frustrating some times but is unique and fun.

After playing this game I see why it won so many awards and was rated so highly by critics!

This game takes place between 2 of the films and follows a new character who has lost his family to the Orcs and Uruks. He goes on a revenge mission that gets brutal fast. There is a "Nemesis system" that allows your enemies to pursue you if you mistakenly let some of them live.

This was purchased as a gift, but I have played it as well. It has many features that left me feeling like I was playing an Assassin's Creed: LOTR edition game, but overall was fun and did not feel repetitive like AC tends to. Controls were at times a bit slow during heavy combat. Graphics were good for the Xbox. Would recommend to a friend and LOTR fans alike.

I highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoys playing games like Assassin's Creed. The cut scenes are just crazy when you are talking about graphics. If you die in the game its not a game ender, the orc that killed you just gets stronger. I really enjoy playing this game

I've been searching for a good LOTR game for a long time and this one finally hits the spot. Although it'd be great to follow the story of the fellowship members, I think they're able to do so much more with a tangential storyline within the Middle Earth universe. Fun game!

If you like Assasin's creed and the Batman games, you will like this as it borrows concepts from both. There is enough original stuff to make it worth it. Combat system is even smoother and the violence is extraordinary. If you didn't like those games, you won't like this.

I was actually skeptical about this game, but this one of the best games of all time

Are you kidding me? Every single person in best buy said it was the best game available, that influenced me in buying it. Once I finally played it though the hype was not exaggerated. Incredible graphics in full 1080p, unreal battles and the kills are always different.

This game was entertaining to play and pass the time. Got a little repetitive towards the end.

This is one of the most addicting games I have ever played! In a good way that is. So much fun and so much to explore with both main missions and side quests. You do not have to be even remotely into the LOTR to enjoy this masterpiece. A must buy for all true gamer!

This game adds a unique gameplay aspect. As you kill off orcs, they level up and you learn more about them. Their strengths and weaknesses are hilarious. The combat mechanics are fun. I loved the storyline. It really stayed true to the feel of the Lord of the Rings.

Great game! Tons of fun. Well designed. And the X1 versiin works like its supposed to work. If you have the option, don't waste your money on the 360 version... the graphics, gameplay mechanics, and overall experience is barely a shadow of the next-gen version.

Great game, reminds me a lot of the batman games, but with more gore and decapitations. A really cool open world game with a lot to do, even without online there's so much to do, and with all the different power ups and unlockables it rarely gets repetitive.

Great game but it really felt like I was playing assassins creed lord of the rings edition plus boss fights were disappointing

The gameplay is fine but repetitive. The story tries to be good but often falls short.

Game of the year 2014, hands down. For the price, it was well worth the buy.
