I couldn't keep up with my daughter or husband they couldn't make out what i was saying and the same thing will me. All we got was static unless we was right by eacer other. And we take 3 to 4 cruises a year and we just gave up. Couldn't return them because by the time we got back from tne cruise it had been 30 to 45 days. Sad we really wanted them to work.

Posted .We hear your disappointment in the range. A cruise is a challenging environment for walkies to be used in. Many dense materials on a cruise ship include wood, concrete, and metal. Cruise ships also have several levels, which make communication with the walkie-talkies difficult. They run with the included rechargeable batteries, but I think you could also just use AAA if in a pinch and not able to charge the pack.

It may not work when in the city in a 28-mile range but works fine when hiking or when there are not many disturbances.

He and his sister have had fun using it and it is easy to control. One problem is caution for children other people have been on their same channels and that needs to be monitored.
