Don't buy unless you are looking for somethingcheap for the kids. 5 year dropped it like crazy so it's only positive comment is that it is durable.

The coverage is nowhere near what was advertised it barely works beyond half a mile, On top of that, the sound quality is terrible. There’s constant distortion and static noise, even when no one is talking on it. It’s loud, annoying. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable communication device.

Weather Radio has excellent reception if the transmitters have been aligned properly. These radios have horrible range when communicating with each other. I was only able to get about 3/4 mile on open land with no obstructions and clear weather between vehicles on the interstate. Definitely no-where near the 28-miles advertised.
