Note: Please pardon the * symbol in place of the songs full name Best Buy.com flagged it as inappropriate. As a collector of Motown and R&B albums from the 1960-1980's I can honestly say this is one of my favorite remastered albums thus far. Aesthetically the dual disc remaster or Legacy Edition of Midnight Love is pretty standard. The real value of the product comes from the inner booklet and second disc titled: The S*xual Healing Sessions. The booklet contains great pictures, full song lyrics and a very nice summary of the albums conception and creation through the eyes of David Ritz who wrote Marvin Gaye's autobiography, Divided Soul:The Life Of Marvin Gaye. The eleven page story of the creation of the CD is accompanied by pictures of Marvin Gaye during the early eighties. The summary offers interesting insight into the world of Marvin Gaye and inspiration that created songs like S*xual Healing. The Cd's themselves are excellent, the remastered sound quality is great. The real value of the dual disc is in the previously unreleased versions of songs like S* Healing, Third World Girl and others. The alternate versions are not subtle sound alike songs from the first Cd's tracks. Vocal versions of S*xual Healing and an alternate slower reggae influenced version of Third World Girl are incredible for example. Overall great product and amazing music.
