Mine crap
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything in this game costs more money. It allows you to play the upgrades but requires you to buy to save. Try telling a 5yr old over an over why his stuff keeps getting deleted.

Not For Me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know Minecraft gets great reviews, but I just couldn't get into the game. Maybe it was the Atari 2600 graphics, or maybe just the gameplay, but this game definitely is not for me.

Every Gamer Needs Minecraft!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've played tons of games on several platforms, but I always come back to Minecraft! It's the perfect game for family oriented fun. There are so many ways to have fun playing this game. You can build anything you can imagine in Creative mode - or in Survival mode, given a little more time and patience. With the most recent PS4 updates you can travel to the Nether and mine its rare resources as well as finding the Ender Stronghold in your Survival world, opening the Ender Portal, and traveling to The End to defeat the Ender Dragon and win the game! Even then, the game's not really over. After defeating the Ender Dragon, you can come back into your world and keep exploring and building - even build a house in The End and return to mine its rare resources (like Ender Stone). The texture and skin packs you can get on Minecraft PS4 are great, too. I use the Steampunk and City texture packs all the time. It changes the look of your game and gives you even more ways to be creative with the things you make in your Minecraft world. This is a game that every gamer should have. It may be the best $20 I've spent on gaming in my life! If you don't have Minecraft PS4 you're really missing out.

Addicting Pixel Glory
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The art style threw me off at first, but if you like to build and explore, this is a game for you. If you enjoy games like Terraria, you'll enjoy Minecraft, especially if you have friends to team up with

Everything is awesome! Oops, wrong franchise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation 4 version of this game is about what you would expect: Awesome. Are the graphics noticeably better with breathtaking hi-res textures and more complex polygons and animations? Ha! But that's not what Minecraft is about. There's no real story or campaign or objectives in Minecraft. You simply start out, have a variety of tools and environments to explore/destroy/build upon, and do whatever you want from there. Complexity ranges from ultra simple (TNT go boom lolz!#, to as horrendously complex as you want to make it #wiring switches to do all kinds of crazy things, create meta-games, and so forth#. There's the standard mode where you have a life bar, more limited resources #which forces you to craft/farm/mine for resources#, and enemies. Or creative mode which is more suited for purely creating awesome stuff faster and easier. You can fly, move super fast, have unlimited materials, and so forth. Creative mode will prove to be a much easier way to build that replica Death Star you've been wanting for so long. The console versions of Minecraft are always a little bit behind the PC version in terms of updates, but most won't notice or care except the die-hard Minecrafters. I prefer the console version simply because I prefer my couch to my office chair. The PS4 version has many new trophies to work towards compared with previous releases. You may not care about these, but I personally love trying to fully explore the games and unlock all their achievements/trophies, so this adds a *lot* of replay value for me. Some of them will take quite some time to attain as they can't be unlocked in Creative mode. As for digital vs. physical, I generally prefer disc versions of games. Physical games tend to go on better sales and more frequent sales, they help me expand my fairly expansive physical game library, I don't have to worry as much about disk space, I can lend the game to a friend or resell it, and I have the pleasant feeling of actually owning something tangible. But if these perks don't interest you, the convenience of digital is nice to have to #switch games without swapping discs). It might take awhile of tinkering around with the game before you "get it", but once you do, it can be a lot of fun.

Great game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First I hesitated to buy this game as it's available on every other platforms for years. I was also divided on the vita version vs the ps4. Finally I got it for the ps4 and it's a great experience (I never played minecraft before). Nothing really to elaborate on, just become a teenage boy with lego (or whatever) again, on your HDTV.

Kids love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My two daughters ( ages 14 & 12 ) were less than thrilled when I gave this game to them. After playing it for several years on their iPads , they thought it would be the same. It wasn't . And on the big TV, they like it even more. New version, I guess.
