I got this product for two reasons. 1. The price point. 2. It was waterproof and can track swimming. I purchased this yesterday and it comes pre-assembled. All you have to do is put it in the sports watch and slap it on your wrist. Very comfortable and easy to forget it is there. I went swimming yesterday and it was fine tracking my swim, synced with my phone and tracked my workout as "intense swimming." Got done with my workout and pushing the button no longer worked however it still would sync and light up while it synced. It also tracked my sleep last night and then after syncing this morning it stopped working all together. I decided to open it up at this point and look inside the battery compartment. I found water damage and a corroded battery. Returned to best buy this afternoon and got a replacement thinking I may have had a lemon. Went to my swimming workout again tonight. Same thing happened, the button stopped working but it synced. I opened it up and found a corrosive battery, but I don't see any evidence of water inside the flash, most likely was though because I believe these batteries are very susceptible to water. I have not decided if I want to give it a third try tomorrow, I may just go get my money back. I do not recommend this product if you plan on swimming with it. My workouts are under 1 hour. I do recommend this product for tracking sleep (very comfortable and pretty accurate, also told me how much deep sleep I got compared to light sleep) and I did not get much experience with it tracking steps but I believe it would track just fine. Don't waste $15, it was counting steps in the box. I never even put it on and I was watching it count steps in the box! I went 500 steps while I was drinking my coffee.

Instead of sitting around on the couch, I set a goal and meet it.

I'll start off by saying that this would be a 4 star review if I wasn't compensating for an over abundance of harsh reviews for the Misfit Flash. I've been curious about activity trackers for a few months, but unable to find the right one with the features I wanted and what I would call a fair price. I want to pay around $50 for something that tells me when I'm being lazy and is a sort of pat on the back when I've been as active as I'd like to be. Before buying my Flash, I had spent about a month with a Fitbit Flex that LUCKILY had been lent to me. I had two problems with the Flex, charging something every 4-5 days that is supposed to be tracking you all day and night is difficult and annoying, and secondly, I haven't worn a watch for a year or two, but if I have something on my wrist I'd like it to tell me the time. The Flex is a glorified pedometer and not worth the $100 they charge, but I digress... Enter the Misfit Flash. You don't have to charge it, just replace the battery (they say, I'm only 3 weeks in) every 6 months. It also tells you the time. I thought that the clock feature would be a bit cryptic, but it turns out it does a fine job of it! Oh yeah, and I bought it for $32.99 on Amazon and Best Buy here has it for $29.99 right now. So that's why I like it. I'll give you two reasons it might not be worth the 5 stars. 1. The bands are a bit cheap and hard to keep the Flash in. 2. I liked the vibrating alert feature in the Flex - this doesn't have anything like that. The first day I wore this I lost it on the soccer field, but luckily found it. I was knocked over and when I caught myself, my palm had rolled the band and popped it out of the band. It didn't break, so I don't know what these people saying it broke when "they did nothing strenuous". Anyway, now I have a piece of electric tape on the back that I cut to fit the band. It doesn't fall out anymore. Also, buy a new band, they're only a few dollars, and stop whining. Bottom line, this is a cheap plastic tracker, that's why it's so inexpensive. I you want something built better, spend the $100 on the Shine or that and more on another tracker/band. For me, this one fits nicely into what I was looking for.
