This is the first time I've picked up a baseball game since I played MLB 2K9 for the Perfect Game Challenge they had going back then... So about 7 or 8 years have gone past and I know The Show was around back then but it never caught my attention because I was an XBox guy. Now playing the PS4 The Show came back on my radar and I decided to give it a try. One thing you'll get right off is that they are very aware of what other sports video game franchises make in digital commerce and try to push their own in game currency on you. So if you were someone who wants to play online against the world be prepared with a major credit/debit card to buy some card packs to stock your team. Otherwise if you're like me and are only looking to take on franchise mode, play friends, or start your career the game is fun, challenging, and have you coming back for more. The pitching interface is an interesting take but effective to make a good pitch. Batting has variable you control and of course timing is key. Fielding is straight forward and they take advantage of the diamond placement of the PS4 controllers buttons. Running the bases has more realistic elements that I have not seen in previous baseball games and made timing all the more essential. If I am being picky what I didn't like is how blocky the players look. You would think with the generation of consoles were in that this wouldn't be an issue, but comparing it to a FIFA or NBA players are definitely plain. All in all, The Show is a fun game to play and you can run the different game modes for a long time before you get tired of them.

I am a big baseball fan and usually get The Show every year or every other year. This years they have added a lot of stuff but the new Conquest mode is really cool and addicting. It's pretty much just like the game Risk and you get a lot of rewards for completing all the missions. They have addressed a lot of bugs and gameplay glitches with each new patch and the devs ALWAYS listen to feedback and are very active on the Operation Sports forums. Some complaints I have would be that the hair looks very last gen. They seriously need to do something about that next year. They didn't add the new train station to Angels stadium yet and there are still some gameplay tweaks that need to be made which I am sure they will fix as they usually always do. If you like baseball, you owe it to yourself to BUY this game. Don't waste money renting it. You will just end up wanting to keep playing it and never return it.

Best baseball game on the market. Graphics, modes top notch. Only negative is the play by play - I've heard the same tired commentary and phrases for three years in a row in this game. Come on guys - record new commentary. It's time.

I mean it's The Show. Best one yet, you'll definitely be satisfied.

Love the game pretty awesome best one yet In the series

The new Diamond Dynasty Conquest mode is a great addition and very similar to risk. They also have added a battle royale mode but it's online only and I don't have a PlayStation Plus subscription so I can't play it which stinks but whatever. The gameplay and Graphics have been improved and they have added sounds of the show this year finally to the PlayStation 4 version. There are some bugs that they need to fix and sometimes a frame rate issue but I'm very confident that they will take care of these problems as they always do. If you are a fan of the series or baseball you will not be disappointed. They improved Road to the Show and franchise and the game is not simply a roster update. It's so much more and I highly recommend it!

This game even better than advertised! So many options that we didn't have in the previous games. Unbelievable how real life the game actually is. The little things they have added make the game come to life.

The most up to date realistic gameplay ever. Lots of addition to batting,pitching and fielding. A very challenging and in depth career mode. A must have for every baseball fan. Fun, exciting and addictive.

I tend to stay away from baseball games because they are too time consuming and not engaging enough. However, after reading multiple reviews I took a shot at this one and I couldn't be happier. After one or two quick games to get the controls understood I dove into the Road to the Show. This is hands down the most fun I've ever had playing a baseball game. It takes time to develop your player but the game casts are done in a manner that limits olays to those you are involved in (meaning much more action than typical). Simply stated, a fun, fun, fun game....

My son said he really enjoyed the game. He is a baseball fan, and he gets the newest copy that is released every year.

Highly addictive baseball sim. Realistic hitting and pitching. Only negative i can think of is the announcers repeat what they say alot. Other than that this is a solid release. GO CUBS!

This game is the best one by far I'll be spending hours playing it everything I had in mind and more so many new great features the learning curve is good a must have for real gamers

This game is great for baseball fans. I'm 29 years old and I grew up gaming and I have a 10 year who loves baseball and thinks he's better than I am in video games. So I have a great time beating him down in this game. This game is everything you should expect from a baseball game. Graphics are pretty decent too. Customizing your own player and getting drafted into the MLB adds an extra fun factor to the game. Bottom line, you should buy it if you have kids you could make cry by beating them down in this game!!!LOL!!!

Love playing this game it's very realistic and the game play is so good you can play as the manager or team owner. Still exploring the other functions and options but I'm hooked

I had MLB The Show 14 and skipped 15 so I decided to give 16 a try. I remember the online play being terrible on 14 so I was hoping 16 would be better. I tried playing online against a friend of mine and the game froze up on us. Another issue I had with 14 was the base running. Every time I would tell a base runner to run he would, but he wouldn't stop running. I would send someone to second base but they would keep on running and I would get thrown out every time. I had the same issue with 16. How could I possibly win a game online when I'm constantly being thrown out because of runners that won't stop running. After only playing a couple of games online I took it back to Best Buy and got The Division. It's a beautiful game but I couldn't take the base running anymore. If I ever get the itch to play some baseball I'll just put 14 in and play RTTS.

Great game play. Really simple to use. I've only had it for a few weeks, but I'm really enjoying it so far. The graphics are great as well. A must have for a gamer/baseball fanatic.

Great gameplay and graphics. Online has been a little rough over the last month but patches are getting better. Highly recommend diamond dynasty better that MUT rewards.

Awesome and life like graphics. Fun to play. Multiple types of game play, like franchise mode and road to the show. Every baseball fan should play this game.
