this was for my wife and about two months later this is still in the cd player

I always wrote Vampire Weekend off as a one-hit wonder, since the song you always hear is part of a VW ad campaign. But once I heard Step on the radio, I decided to give the album a try. Great decision, as this is a fantastic album from start to finish. Much more depth than I ever would have guessed.

if you liked the previous albums, you'll likely like this...if you give it a chance. not as poppy on a lot of tracks and darker themes to the songs. but overall a very good listening experience, worth repeated listens.

Enjoyable album that is mostly the same as their previous two efforts. Songs are catchy and continue to show a heavy Paul Simon influence. The last two songs are kind of boring in my opinion. You will not be disappointed with this album after waiting 2 years for new material!

The songs are good, but not as great as their previous albums. Music sounds a little sadder, a little slower. Lyrics are still awesome. Still love them!

Vintage Indie album / the best album of 2013. Starts out strong and fast, catchy, and lyrics are good. 'Step' 'Hannah Hunt' 'Ya Hey' 'Unbelievers' 'Worship You' 'Diane Young' are awesome singles.

I heard them on SNL a while back and really liked their sound. I had the opportunity and was able to purchase the CD. I have been enjoying it ever since.

Far better than their second album, with a sound much closer to the old Vampire Weekend. Definitely a great buy!

This album reminded me of there debut album Vampire Weekend. Each song flows well into the next song. Hats off to Vampire Weekend treat of an album!

Modern Vampires of the City is the best Vampire Weekend CD to date. Great music and lyrics will assure any skeptic that this band is "for real".

Vampire Weekend have made a great summer album filled with fun, heartache, longing, and redemptive peace all found within their hometown, NYC.

This new album almost sounds like a Vampire Weekend album, with one catch: it's much darker.

This album is so different than their previous ones. Nevertheless, it still has that unique sound that Vampire Weekend does so well!

Vampire Weekend set a high bar with their first album. The songs were as catchy and poppy as can be. They've never reached that point since. Modern Vampires of the City tries to impress with its use of numerous instruments which keeps it fun but distracts from us from the lack of any memorable songs. The album is light and enjoyable enough but there is just something missing that I hope the band locates soon.

I have 7 songs on this CD that really stood out to me. I think overall it's great music and it makes me jumping happy.

Vampire Weekend surely does not disappoint with this album. It is a great addition to any music collection.

I do not like their other two albums but this one absolutely blew me away. Amazing cd from start to finish.

Bought it because my kids are going to the concert, it is a great CD and we as parents like it as well!

This is Vampire Weekend's most tonally consistent album. They do still push the bounds of pop sound, too.
