Cable that has become very expensive. I was pleasantly surprised at how many channels I could get. A big plus for a one time payment.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Antenna does just as advertised and picks up channels within 40 miles as long as there are no obstructions. I've used it in a few locations, but they all were fairly flat locales with houses and trees being the only real blockages. It is fairly directional and twisting and turning it can make a big difference. Check to see if you can aim it towards your local stations before you buy. If you shop around you can get the same performance for less; I chose to purchase this one because it was available right then and sometimes I get excited when buying new toys. I wouldn't expect it to pick up much past 40 or 50 miles, and if you have lots of trees, buildings, or hills around it might not pick up much at all (but that's true of any antenna).
