Posted .Hi RobB! We apologize you have not had a great experience with our Mohu Arc Pro Amplified HDTV Antenna. All locations and terrains are different. If you are in a more urban area, or at a closer distance to the broadcast towers, there is a good chance you do not need an amplifier. Over-amplification can occur within a shorter distance to the towers and could very well make your reception worse. Please give us a call at 877-825-5572 so we can perform a FREE detailed signal analysis of your location to see what the problem could be and if a non-amplified antenna will work better for your area. But then the channels start to act up, once again I’m constantly moving the antenna. I should just invest in a roof antenna with all the money that I’ve spent on antennas.

(I live 30 miles from Washington DC) I got very few channels so I returned this to Best Buy. Very thin, light weight and cheap feeling.

Cord Cutting has its growing pains

We are not big TV watchers and thought it a great time to try receiving local broadcast TV and for the most part we do get a variety of local TV broadcasts . The quality of the reception for a few channels is good but for the most part it is a delicate bit of maneuvering to get the antenna positioned just right to get our Public TV and Network channels. Other folks may have had better results but I have been less than impressed.

Plugged this in and am now able to get all but the weakest channels (mostly shopping and infomercial ) in my area. Pleased.

Posted .HI PennyC! Depending on your distance from the broadcast towers, you may need a non-amplified antenna. Over-amplification can occur if you are using an amplifier too close to the towers. Cabin TV !

Very lightweight and has a nice long cord to put it where needed. Some days we get 7 channels and others 23. Being in the woods I felt this was great.

When I say everywhere, I mean by all windows even in our upstairs with no trees.

I was able to receive all of the "over the air" channels for our area in a much more reliable manner than the previous antenna I was using. It was a good purchase.

I don't have it in a window but neither was the rabbit ears...maybe that would make a difference.
