Some suburbs still need signals from space

I purchased this antenna hoping that I could cut the cord and get my local broadcast channels off air. When I first moved in, I had used an antenna mounted on my roof. At this point, the cable had frayed in the rotator motor had stopped working. I was hoping a newer technology indoor antenna might save me the trouble of running new wire and installing a new rotator. That won’t be the case for me. The antenna is relatively compact. It includes a coaxial cable to hook up directly to your TV or network tuner box. It also includes a USB powered amplifier. However, it does not include a USB power adapter. Furthermore, the USB cable attached to the amplifier is relatively short. It is permanently attached, preventing you from obtaining a longer cable. Mohu assumes you have a later model TV which has a USB power out with sufficient power. Overall, I was disappointed that Mohu Arc Pro 60 picked up even fewer channels than my roof antenna with the frayed cord. The box claims it can receive stations from up to 60 miles away. The majority of stations in my area or 19.6 miles from my house, and yet none of them can be received. Even checking contour maps show that I should be in a decent reception area. While I can't say for certain it's my house or the antenna, I can say that it's not what I was hoping for.

Works surprisingly well! I tried this, even though we typically get poor cell phone signal inside our house that has stucco exterior walls (e.g., chicken wire holds the stucco, blocking radio waves). But this antenna pulled in 37 channels - and we don’t live close into town (MSP).

I cut the cord several years ago and have been using a flat antenna in my upstairs window connected to a Tablo to distribute OTA to several TVs throughout the house. With that arrangement in the Leland, NC area, I have been able to reliably get 21 stations. Substituting the Arc Pro in the same location, I am able to get 28 stations including all majors and PBS.

*Disclaimer: I live within the city limits so my signal strength is very strong* The Mohu Arc Pro is a great antenna for anyone looking to cut the cord and save some money every month. Depending on where you live there are a plethora of channels available to you just by using an antenna such as this to get them in your home. Gone are the days of static and bad signal when using an antenna, and the Mohu Arc Pro makes the experience even better by giving you an indicator allowing you to see how strong your signal is. Setup is easy and quick and can be done within a few minutes giving you a strong signal to your TV allowing you to enjoy major networks for no additional charge after purchasing the antenna. If you live in a more rural area, you may need to look for a powered and possibly outdoor antenna, but for almost anyone within or near the city this is a great pick.

I'm only about 18 miles from town in the "suburbs" but have had some problems with other antennas with occasional loss of signal. Not the case with this antenna. I get all local channels without any problem. It comes with an amplifier though you may not need it. It plugs into a usb port and lights the leds to show signal strength. Pretty handy for finding the best location for placement. No ac adapter included but you can request one for free. Fairly small in comparison to some of my other antennas which don't work as well. Good looking if you have to have it exposed. I don't have cable because I don't want to pay for a bunch of crap I probably wouldn't watch anyway. Great if you want "free" tv (local broadcast). You still have to deal with commercials but that gives me a break to do other things while watching. I really like this antenna.

So far, not impressed... First thing first. The packaging was, well, strange. The external sleeve was about 1/3" longer than interior packaging. It was just... Strange. On opening, it had everything EXCEPT the USB to 2 prong power connector that plugs into wall. To reality check me and to make sure I was not having a 48 year-old man crazy moment, I had my 17 year old tripple check the packaging to see if he could find it. Nope. They did not send it. I mean, I guess I understand that mistakes can be made, but without the OEM power converter, I really can't use or determine efficacy of the unit. OK, is that a deal breaker? Well, not necessarily, I understand simple mistakes can be made. I'm willing to forgive, but... I called the Tech Support line to have the send me a replacement USB / wall-power converter. On hold for 17 minutes. No answer. OK, maybe they are under super heavy use. I can always try again. Called back next day, on hold again for 15+ minutes and I decided to choose "Press any key to leave a message" to leave my name and number for a call-back. I left the request for a callback more than 5 hours before they closed. So far, no call back. Not impressed. I'd like to be able to offer a more detailed review but I can't. Really not a good start to my relationship with Mohu. I'm hoping I can get this resolved because I want to be able to use this in our RV so the wife can watch her prime-time broadcast shows and I can watch college football when we are traveling, but so far, this is a brick. Where are the channels?

I cut the cord about a year ago but use apps to stream live tv. I wanted an antenna to watch football and locally televised baseball games without the delay and with better picture quality so I figured I would give this antenna a try. Unpacking and setting this antenna up was simple. I plugged it into my tv’s coax and usb jack and placed the antenna in the window. I live about 35 miles south of New York City and have plenty of windows facing north. I ran the channel scan on my TV and found that I only got 2 of the networks to come up (Fox and WOR). What the what? No CBS and NBC only worked if I moved the antenna but then I lost Fox. ABC will not come in nor will WPIX. The Mets have some games on WPIX and that’s one of the main reasons I wanted this thing. I have tried this antenna on 3 different TV’s and multiple windows and have not had any luck. Whatever new technology they are trying to push with this antenna just isn’t working for me. Oh, and the instructions are terrible. They show options for all of the different antennas they sell but not mine. Swing and a miss.

This was a good antenna for the price - I really liked the built in amplifier via USB. It had a convenient wall mount as well. Really like it and helped with channel detection.

    WORKS GREAT IN BASEMENT

Full of doubt, I bought the more expensive model (this one) and it is fantastic. Down in basement, no windows, brick house, and no way for line-of- sight to broadcast antennas. Previous TV antenna (the best one at the time) had to be up one floor, dumb cables trailing down staircase, and at best we were getting 3 stations. Often, only 1. This one, placed beside TV so USB for amplifier could be plugged into TV, lit up with every station we ever heard of in the area, clear and great audio... what a difference modern technology makes. Amazing purchase, very happy, Plus it looks cool, adds 4 little lights to the system. No doubt if this was on the roof or in attic it would be even better. A home run!

The "What's Included" section is INCORRECT: Mohu Arc Pro Indoor Amplified HDTV Antenna Power Injector AC Adapter <<<--- WAS NOT IN THE BOX FOR 3 UNITS - USELESS Coaxial cable Owner's manual ON TOP OF THAT, THE STAFF INSISTED THAT THE REST OF THE SHELF STOCK COULD NOT BE INSPECTED FOR THE POWER ADAPTER CUBE - Therefore, they forced likely defective products on to unsuspecting customers.
