Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Beam Premium Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Antenna's reception and picture quality, frequently praising its ease of installation and attractive design. Many appreciate the improved channel count it provides, although some experienced issues with signal strength and found the antenna to be larger than expected. A few customers felt the price was high relative to performance. Overall, the positive feedback on reception and picture quality outweighs the negative comments.

The unit is not exactly as pictured on the box. Its not black but instead almost like a dark grey with white specks which make it look a bit like concrete. Did not pick up many stations and went with an antennadirect antenna which gets me 35 stations.

This was to be a better antenna than the Terk I have. Well it isn't. It did not get all the channels that the Terk got. And, it was difficult to assemble because the coaxial threaded piece was not aligned properly

This antenna worked really well. I used this antenna indoors. I was able to pick up "most" of my local stations. I live about 20 miles from all the television towers. My local CBS station has always been a challenge using indoor antennas and trying a few different locations on my mantle I was able to get each station. The antenna is a little on the large size for an indoor antenna. It comes with mounting hardware and it does look like a soundbar, so it does blend in with other components of a home theater. It comes with an amplifier, I got better reception when I did not use the amplifier because of my proximity to the towers. I definitely think this antenna is solid and is a nice addition for cord cutters.

    Simple Lightweight TV Antenna

You won't need much knowledge or skill to connect the Mohu Beam Premium. It's a simple flat antenna with a USB-powered signal booster. You hopefully have a USB port on your TV to connect the booster power cable to since the cable that would have to be connected to the included AC adapter is only a couple feet long. It pulled in slightly more channels than previous small indoor antennas I tried did, with a few more coming in when I tried placing it outside. Every few miles distance from a TV station makes a difference. The Mohu Beam pulled in more stations at a friend's house who was a little closer to the nearest city with TV stations.

This is a non-working antenna. This is the second time that I have purchased and then sent back a HDTV attenna that comes with an amplifier and the attenna could not bring in any channels except 1 7 and 29. The other stations were just wavy,

Mohu is not a company who you associate with pretty antennas, well that has changed. The Mohu Beam Premium Indoor/outdoor amplified antenna is a good looking antenna. The whole antenna is contained in a thin plastic beam, this can be mounted indoors, in the attic or outdoors. The antenna even comes with a kickstand so you can put it on any flat surface. They advertise it as looking like a soundbar and it can be mounted to a wall under your TV. I wish they also had hardware to mount it to the tv mount so it could be mounted on an angled TV that stands away from the wall. This antenna comes with a USB powered inline amplifier that can be plugged into your TV's USB port or the supplied plug in USB power block. The New FirstStage amplifier is located right next to the antenna, resulting in less pixelation and increased reception capability. The performance of this Antenna is outstanding. I tried the original Mohu leaf and the glide and this antenna was able to get 10 additional channels because its position was not limited to the windows or doors. Even with the leaf antennas held in the same position I received a more stable picture. The better performance could be the new amplifier or the multi-directional design of the antenna. The setup took 2 minutes with none of those sticky squares you need to use on the other antennas. If you choose to wall mount the antenna they include the bracket and hardware required. Two different length coaxial cables are included as well as a straight and 90 degree coaxial connector. They also include a kickstand if you want to put it on a flat surface. If you need a good looking and excellent performing antenna. I highly recommend this antenna. The fact you can mount it in the attic or outside it a plus.

Great Improvement Over My Old Antenna

I installed this antenna on top of a bookcase in a second story bedroom near the outside window. It is simple to install but you do need to be careful to connect the wiring as the included diagram shows you so that the amplifier is properly installed in series with the 75 ohm cable. You will need to provide the amplifier with power either from a powered USB port on a computer or the TV itself; or from the supplied 120V USB power adapter. You do get a short 75 ohm cable and also included is a 10 foot 75 ohm cable with a 75 ohm ‘female to female splice’ if needed. Mounting hardware is included as well as a small peg you can use as a stand for the antenna. A nice touch is a right angle splice that makes it really easy to connect your cable to the antenna – great. I attached the antenna to a Sling AirTV box. With my old amplified antenna from the same spot in the room, I received 20 channels. Also using my old amplified antenna I experienced considerable pixilating and audio problems as well, depending on the channel selected. Here’s the good news. The Mohu Beam Premium Amplified HDTV Antenna scanned in 30 channels and the picture and audio were both crystal clear across all channels. I threw the old (it was about 8 years old) antenna in the trash. This antenna is doing the job great, and now I have 30 free over-the-air TV channels in this bedroom. I should note that when I installed the new antenna on an inner wall, I lost some of the channels and the clarity, so you do need to ensure you figure out an optimal location for the antenna. You can even locate it in an attic and run the wire down to the amplifier and the TV. This antenna is priced moderately based on the results it produced. I can recommend it highly.

Review for MOHU BEAM PREMIUM INDOOR / OUTDOOR AMPLIFIED HDTV ANTENNA First off, this is a nicer looking antenna than any others that I’ve seen. You can hang it on the wall by your TV and it will look like part of the furniture; it has a sound bar type look. It has hardware for mounting and a “kickstand” for sitting on a TV stand or the like. I tried this antenna on two different TVs in different parts of our house. One with much greater success than the other. Using one of the ZIP code identifiers for HDTV signals (easily found on the Web with a google search) I confirmed the direction of most HDTV signal transmitters in my area. Unfortunately, that direction meant the signals had to pass through three rooms of my house to get to the first TV I tried to set up. I was only able to get a handful of channels, and some of them had spotty reception. I then tried the antenna on another TV in the front of the house that faced the direction of most of our local transmissions. What a difference! I was able to easily get 26 channels, including all of the local channels for the major networks. Even if I discounted the handful of stations I’d never watch, I had well over 20 clear HD or near-HD channels. There was no flickering or loss of signal whatsoever. To be fair, I set this antenna in a window facing SE, although the signals are mainly from the SW. So the the claim of “no pointing needed” is indeed, accurate. However, if I took the antenna out of the window, I lost all but one of the channels. Since the antenna is designed for indoor or outdoor use, it would not be too difficult to mount it outside on the house or even up on the roof. The antenna comes with two lengths of cable: 4 foot and 6 foot. You can use the shortest cable needed to get the best picture, or combine them with the included coupler for a 10 foot run. The included amplifier also makes a big difference in the quality of the signal. If you're serious about cord-cutting, this is a great antenna to try!

This antenna worked in one part of my home but not in the location where the tv was that I actually wanted to use it on. Ended up returning and purchasing Fire Sticks instead.
