Well, this didn't happen with this unit. Actually, I got fewer. Funny thing is, this was recommended by a BestBuy employee as being better than the one I was considering that cost more.

I had rabbit ears before and those were just as good if not better. I always have to move the antenna around for my TV channels to come in. It cost about $50.

In most cases an amplifier isn’t necessary unless TV signals in your area are low power, or you have longer cable runs to multiple TVs. Also, try installing the antenna as high up as possible on a wall or in the window. Any antenna has a hard time reaching its full potential if it is located lower to the ground. Doesn’t work through concrete walls

Unfortunately all the 50+ broadcast antennas in the metro area are north of my building and I was not able pick more than three broadcast signals.

Doesn't always recognize ipad. Have to insert device onto iPad couple of times for it to read. Cheaper options available. Some websites say to avoid them as they will not work, so I opted for the Apple version
