Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm 50 miles NE of NYC, and this antenna pulls in the networks, Fox, CPTV from either the city, Long Island, or CT. TV: Samsung series 630 ("pre-smart" unit). I've tried larger "unpowered" antennas, but they just don't cut it. You simply power the unit by a USB connection to the TV (or plug into an outlet). My antenna is mounted in a first-floor front window - I'm on a tree-lined street, and it still does pretty well. Caveat: Reception can be fickle; you just need to reprogram (scan) the channels every now and again (some stations play "peekaboo" and come and go).

It is easy to install and you can put it anywhere. Theres really not much to setup, you just plugin and there you go. You scan on your TV and then you get whatever stations are nearby. The leaf 50 was good for me out in the county. Beware if you live in hilly terrain though, you may have trouble. YMMV for performance, but price is right for me considering it was a gift, lol

Easy to use and has a good picture when you find a good spot in the house. For us it seemed to work ether the higher I. The house we went with it. We are picking up stations from a distance of 60 miles or so. We are an hour be a half away from the twin cities and seem to be able to get all the main local channels.

If you have a TV older than this, you may just need a simple accessory to help receive the available channels in your area. We will troubleshoot to try and pinpoint what the problem could be.
