Hi Arco! Thank you for your honest review of our Mohu Leaf Amplified HDTV Antenna. Depending on your distance from the nearest towers, you may want to run a channel scan without the included amplifier. Over-amplification can occur if you are trying to use an amp too close to the broadcast towers. We also have a free app called Antenna Point you can download to your iOS or Android phone. Once you download, the app will identify your location. You will see the towers in the surrounding area, so you aim the antenna in the right direction to pick up the TV signals. If this does not help, before you return the antenna, please give our tech support team a call at 877-825-5572 and they will perform a FREE signal analysis, this will better assist them in pinpointing what the problem may be. Hi PaulW! When you are in that short of a distance from the broadcast towers, there is a real good chance you do not need an amplifier. Over-amplification can occur when you are trying to use an amp too close to the towers and can very well cause you to lose reception instead of gaining it. Please try removing the included amplifier and re-scanning for channels to see if this helps. Hi JeffR! Considering you are at a shorter distance from the broadcast towers, please try running a channel scan without the included amplifier to see if that helps. In most cases an amplifier isn’t necessary unless TV signals in your area are low power, or you have longer cable runs to multiple TV. It is also important to remember to place the antenna as high as possible to achieve the best signal reception, and re-scan for channels each time the antenna is moved to a different location. When you connect a new antenna, it is recommended to rescan your TV for channels, so that the new antenna can connect to your TV tuner properly. About the coaxial cable, all our coaxial cables have been tested to meet the standards required to deliver TV signals in an indoor environment.
