We also regret the difficulty you experienced with the amplifier’s coaxial connector. Hi there! Considering you are at a shorter distance from the broadcast towers, please try running a channel scan without the included amplifier to see if that helps. In most cases an amplifier isn’t necessary unless TV signals in your area are low power, or you have longer cable runs to multiple TV. Using an amplifier when it is not needed could very well make your signal reception worse. It is also important to remember to place the antenna as high as possible to achieve the best signal, and re-scan for channels each time the antenna is moved to a different location. Hi Arco! Thank you for your honest review of our Mohu Leaf Amplified HDTV Antenna. Depending on your distance from the nearest towers, you may want to run a channel scan without the included amplifier. Over-amplification can occur if you are trying to use an amp too close to the broadcast towers. We also have a free app called Antenna Point you can download to your iOS or Android phone. Once you download, the app will identify your location. You will see the towers in the surrounding area, so you aim the antenna in the right direction to pick up the TV signals. If this does not help, before you return the antenna, please give our tech support team a call at 877-825-5572 and they will perform a FREE signal analysis, this will better assist them in pinpointing what the problem may be.
