Greetings VincentG! Please try running a channel scan without the included amplifier. Sometimes over-amplification can occur if you are in a short distance from the towers and it is not needed. Since you are only 20 miles from local towers, this could very well be the issue. It is also important to remember to place the antenna as high as possible to achieve the best signal reception, and re-scan for channels each time the antenna is moved to a different location. BillJ, please give us a call as soon as you can. We can help you get the antenna TV signals. Hopefully you scanned your TV for channels using your TV remote when connecting the new antenna. We also suggest you move the antenna in another area of the room and try scanning the TV again. We are here to help if you need us, please call 877-825-5572.

Depending on your distance from the broadcast towers, there is a chance you do not need an amplifier. Over-amplification can occur within a shorter distance to the towers and could very well make your reception worse. Please try removing the included amplifier from the antenna and re-scanning for channels to see if this helps. We do have a free app called Antenna Point you can download to your iOS or Android phone. Once you download, the app will identify your location. You will see the towers in the surrounding area, so you aim the antenna in the right direction to pick up the TV signals. Every location is unique in terms of local terrain, foliage, and where the antenna is installed may affect your TV signals. We always suggest you try the antenna where you would like to install it. Scan your TV for channels and then if you are not receiving all the available channels, move the antenna a foot or two in either direction and then scan the TV for channels again. Sometimes if you are too close to the towers, the amplifier can over tune the TV signals and cause unnecessary interference. Hi CindyA, we are sorry to hear you didn't like the channels you had to choose from when using the Mohu Leaf Amplified antenna. This isn't the antennas fault, this would be a complaint to the broadcast television stations in your area. Most regions receive about 50 channels or more, including ABC, CBS, NBC, The CW, PBS, and many more TV stations with some pretty amazing live events and a lot of broadcasters are televising sports now as well. If you find yourself watching local network TV channels this is the perfect alternative to compliment streaming.
