Indoor/Outdoor, HD antenna for over the air channels. This product is a little bigger than normal but it works both indoor and outdoor and with the right position I was able to get 34 channels so far. I highly recommend testing out positions before using the included mounts. If your television has a usb port then you will be able to use the power injector instead of the included usb power adapter. Also included is a 30 foot coaxial cable for extended use for outdoors. Would I recommend this to friends and family? Absolutely! Would I purchase again, yes because I am able to get more by mounting outside of my home.

Believe the hype, this HD antenna really does work

I often say I live in the Bermuda Triangle of the airwaves. I tried CB's and could not get down the street. Cellular, weather radios, public safety radios, etc. also all have a hard time at my home area. This antenna has gone on to do things no other antenna does. It receives all of the signals from Philly - which is 30 miles away, and from other locations as well. 30 miles, but for me, it might as well be 1000 miles given the radio interference where I live. Other antennas have been okay to good, but never great. I'd get some, but not all of the channels from a City. In this case, this thing gets all of them. It is installed on the 2nd floor of my house, near a window. I didn't try the attic because we have a roof on roof construction that would limit signal anyway due to the metal used to prefab the roofing shingles. Go ahead, try it. If it doesn't work, take advantage of the Best Buy return policy - but I'm sure if you are looking for a great TV antenna, you'll be pleased with this compared to everything else on the market.

A short time ago I tried the smaller indoor version and loved it. I took the next step up and now I’ve cut the cords! Mounting it in the attic let me pull channels that based on a signal map I shouldn’t be able to get. All High def and crystal clear. If you have multiple TVs skip the smaller versions and use this all in one solution. Now my wife gets her news and I don’t get a monthly bill

Stronger signal than mohu leaf ultimate 50

It does provided me stronger signal than mohu leaf ultimate 50 miles antenna but does not result in more channels (YMMV I guess). It is also not truly omni directional, rotating it does have effect. I am located in an area where I have TV stations all around me so it is still not able to receive all available channels by pointing it to just 1 direction. This is only for attic installation because it is huge if you place indoor. It is in a sail shape so it will be blown away by the wind if you mount on the roof. To me it does not worth the extra money.

Full disclosure: I received a “Mohu - Sail Outdoor Multi-Directional Antenna” in exchange for a timely and honest review. I ordered the “Sail” as a second HD antenna for another location. I have a different HD antenna connected to one TV in my home already. In my case, I have my antenna connected a TiVo “Over The Air” DVR which is really handy. As a test, I compared my current antenna to the “Sail”. I received all of the same stations with the Sail located by my window as I do with the current antenna next to the TV, about 10’ from the same window. The TiVo allows me to test signal strength on each channel, so I also did that. I found equal strength on most channels, but in one case, the “Sail” provided a stronger signal. Unlike old analog TV signals, HD signals are more “yes or no”. If you get adequate signal, you get a clear picture. If not, you get nothing. In my experience, the channels I receive are nice crisp audio and video of high quality. Of course any SD channel transmitted over HD technology will still look worse, but HD channels are excellent. The Sail includes mounting hardware for external mounting. I did not use this, but it looks like the right parts are there. External mounting could be very useful in many situations. Overall it looks nice and works very well. The “Sail” should be very helpful for “cord cutters” who want to receive local stations “over the air” rather than pay for cable.

I think that usability of this antenna will really come down to where you live. According to the website I live in an area that can get free channels. However, I moved it several different places and plugged it into power and was only able to get at most 12 channels. I believe it could be the location of my house and the signal is getting blocked by other houses. I think depending where you live will depend if it is worth it to buy one. As far as build quality it kind of seems flimsy and not sure how well it would hold up in a storm or outside in the elements. On a positive note, the quality of the video that comes out of it is very good. It says it can do 4k televisions which I do not see how this is possible through a cable connection but it was crystal clear quality on my TV.

I was not able to hook this up myself due to my condition but my brother did it for me and he said it was an easy installation. I was able to pick up over 50 channels (some channels I never heard of) with this antenna versus my current one that only picked up about 25. Also there was a lot of interference with the old antenna and noting with this one. Overall, a good product.

I've always had issues with HD antennas picking up all of my local channels, usually a couple would have static or not be able to be picked up at all due to walls and rainy weather. However, this antenna works like a champ! It is very lightweight and relatively easy to install. I highly recommend using the power amplifier attatchment, as it greatly increases performance.

Great attic antenna.. Better reception for rural

This is an antenna meant to be mounted on the roof or in an attic, which is ideal for rural areas. The further away you are from a broadcast antenna, the more likely an antenna like this will help you get good reception. Not recommended necessarily if you're nearer to a 'big city' where reception may be better off with something like an amplified indoor antenna - I'm sort of in-between myself, with an indoor amplified I "can" get some of the city channels (NYC) but not well and not without a lot of positioning work. This is a larger antenna which i'm hoping will have to be moved around less to maintain the signal. So far, I'm happy with it, undecided whether i will move it from attic to roof.

I purchased the Mohu sail, installed it on a 25' pole. It seems to be well built. It does pick up about 34 channels. Although it needs to be adjusted to get channels in Lafayette or Baton Rouge from time to time. I do live in a fringe area.

I read the directions before I hit the roof and prepared the location, install was maybe 15 minutes plus another 30-45 minutes for pulling cable. Once I had everything in place and running we started browsing. We receive about 50 channels, some programming repeats (same network) but the picture quality is great (barring weather).

The Mohu Sail Indoor/Outdoor Multi-directional Antenna is amazing. I used it for my parent's cabin, which is 45+ miles outside of the city. They are so happy with the antenna, they have bought at least one for their neighbors. The setup was quick and easy, and only took about 15 minutes. Once the antenna was in place, I connected it to the TV, told the TV to search for channels, and BOOM: HD TV channels out in the middle-of-nowhere. This is a great, simple antenna setup that works great, and isn't an eyesore.

I live in a home where my tv has limited access to a window and have been unable to get local channels, especially NBC, on lower-cost indoor antennas. I decided to take the plunge and give this antenna a try and I’m so glad I did. I mounted it to the exterior wall of my house and ran the cable inside and I have all of the local digital channels including NBC. The picture is HD - and people have come over and commented thinking that I got cable tv again. I highly recommend this antenna.

I first bought a Mohu leaf 50, but it had some interference and intermittent weak signal n some channels, so I switched it for a Mohu sail. Although I only bought it today, so far I'm getting great reception for all channels (PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, Univision, Telemundo etc.). It was definitely worth the upgrade, although Amazon offers this product for less. The antenna is large for putting in your living/family room, but in my case I ran the cable through the ceiling into a closet upstairs, so it is well hidden.

I use OTA DTV already as a method to cut the cable cord. I have always used a simple rabbit eared antenna to scan for channels and was happy, at first, to receive the Mohu - Sail Outdoor Multi-Directional Antenna - Black. I thought that I would now get at least a dozen or more extra channels with the Mohu - Sail Outdoor Multi-Directional Antenna - Black. My first scan picked up fifty channels that I knew was missing several channels. My second scan, to find the missing channels, only picked up forty-six channels. I then ran a partial scan to find the missing channels and picked up zero channels. Frustrated and knowing that channels were missing, I disconnected the Mohu - Sail Outdoor Multi-Directional Antenna - Black and reconnected my simple rabbit eared antenna. On my first scan, I picked up fifty channels that still were missing channels. I immediately ran a partial scan and picked up an additional nine channels that the Mohu - Sail Outdoor Multi-Directional Antenna - Black could not pick up. The amplification did not help me with finding more OTA DTV channels. A simple rabbit ear antenna will suffice just as well as the Mohu - Sail Outdoor Multi-Directional Antenna - Black.

After trying many (8-10) different types and priced antennas to receive my local CBS station with no success, I purchased the Mohu Sail. I had come to the conclusion that I would probably have to mount it in the attic or on the roof. When I got it home I decided to try it inside, and to my pleasant surprise, it brought in CBS perfectly clear and all of my other channels looked clearer than with any previous antennas. I decided to just leave it inside and it still works great to this day!

    Better Reception

Since NBC and CBS did some tweaking to their channels the first week of Oct 2018, I stopped getting all of my local channels, 4, 7, 9. I think the power/signal output got weaker as a result of their tweak. I was using the MOHU Leaf with 30-40 mile range and the Mohu sky 60 mile range. I upgraded all of my Antennas to mohu leaf supreme (65 range) and the MOHU sail (75 range). I now have all my channels back plus xtra. Very Happy with all products.

The salesman at Best Buy said the antennae would work fine from Rockford to Madison, WI, 57 miles away. IT DOES NOT. Though it guarantees 75 mile range, IT DOES NOT WORK FOR 57 miles. But installing it in my attic was a lot of work, so it is not worth taking it out to get my $100 back.
