I cut the cord due to the rising cost of cable. This made it possible. I purchased this antenna and a Tablo DVR (which works like a Tivo system but less expensive). I don't miss the monthly fees and still enjoy every show I watched through cable. It works well but needs to be plugged in to really pull in the stations.

This is a nice, lightweight but durable antenna that can either be mounted indoors, or is suitable for outdoor use without being too cumbersome of an installation. I actually chose my attic for installation but it does seem this will hold up to the weather very well if you choose to mount it outdoors. The manufacturer recommends in the instructions that this be mounted to either a wooden beam in the attic or directly to siding. Installation is not too difficult. The parts included are decent, but for running a signal this kind of length (particularly if it's to be outdoors) you want a better quality cable (RG6 is best for the heavy grade and better insulation). Obviously it wasn't included due to the cost, but you're better off making that investment. The connectors could be a bit better too--the compression rather than the crimp kind make better connections. I would recommend paying the extra cost for all of this if you're planning on making this your main source of TV viewing. You will also need a TV with either a USB connection or an empty power outlet nearby to power the antenna as well. The signal is excellent, and the amount of channels picked up is amazing. I live about 30 miles from major sources and was able to pick them all up, I was even able to pick up stations roughly 60 miles away. All-in-all very impressive range. You can check where your closest transmitters are through several sources, or there's even apps available now that can help you do this. Particularly handy if you want to "aim" your antenna a bit.. Search google for "antenna pointing" or "where to aim your antennas" and you'll be on your way. If you've been thinking about cutting the cord you'll likely want an antenna, and if you live in a more remote or outlying area this is a great choice. Easy to mount, attractive, and gets great reception, just be sure and upgrade a few of the included items.

Works pretty good. It states it should be outside or in a attic but I placed it inside on a wall facing the most towers and it is working just fine.

I had the mohu Leaf and returned after only getting 3 channels now with the Sail I'm up to 29channels beyond my expectations due to being 60-70 miles from all big antennas plus I pointed south due to side of house TV was on and I'm sure if pointed north would have even more. Love this for my Panther Football #keeppounding, survivor, this is us and news every now and then!!!!

The Mohu Sail worked ok for most stations, but was very directional. Had to have it pointed exactly at towers which are 45-50 miles away. Had trouble picking up stations that are HIGH vhf which were some of the ones we wanted. But we also have trees and houses that are in the line of sight to the towers. Could only mount outside about 12 feet off the ground. The stations it did pull in were great.

We dropped over $200/month for cable and bought this and we haven’t looked back. We get over 20 channels. Some we’ve never heard of and the basics like CW, ABC etc. we really enjoy it and the only time we get reception interference is what we get a really bad storm, but it doesn’t last long. Easy setup and can put inside or out.
