Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the extensive gameplay and abundant content as major strengths of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Many praise the game's large roster of monsters and the portability of the Switch version, while some mention a challenging difficulty and less streamlined controls compared to more recent entries in the series. The game's classic Monster Hunter formula and variety of weapons are also frequently cited as positive aspects.

Game will scratch the itch, but it looks and feels pretty "budget title." If you've already played this game on 3DS, give it a pass and play World on Ps4 for 20 bucks. Seriously, this game feels ancient, in the bad way.

    Amazing Game

First off, this game is nothing like Monster Hunter World. Going back to the traditional art style that Capcom always had for the Monster Hunter series, this game is just as tough as the original games. Has a much wider-range of monsters and armor sets to collect along with all 14 weapon types. If you're coming from Monster Hunter World, this version is not as easy, but has a lot more content to offer. With an included G-Rank that increases the AI and strength of monsters, the game will really test your monster hunting skills. Definitely not a game your "average gamer" can just pick up and play, but definitely worth the investment. Has tons of replay value. I have over 600 hours in Monster Hunter World and that game barely has any content (although all updates are free). This game is nearly 2 or 3 times the size of MHWorld. For all you previous MH fans/vets. I definitely recommend!

Satisfying Experience on Switch for MH

As a veteran hunter (played Monster Hunter since the Playstation 2 days), I have played every Monster Hunter game that has come to the US (Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter Freedom, Freedom 2, Freedom Unite, Tri, 3 Ultimate, 4 Ultimate, Generations) and have also played Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (Japan's Monster Hunter Freedom 3) and have loved the entire premise behind Capcom's slaughterhouse grind fest of defeating various creatures, endless crafting options, and various strengths and weaknesses of monsters, whether it be a Wyvern, Elder Dragon, Fanged Beast, Piscine Wyvern, etc. This game is a continued Generations experience (which is awesome as you can transfer your Generations data from your 3DS to Generations Ultimate and get some cool bonuses; the Deviants that were added here makes it sweeter (Diablos, Mizutsune, Gammoth, Astalos to name a few) and also being able to fight my oldest nemesis (of sorts) Lao-Shan Lung is a treat for me -the addition of the Brave and Alchemy styles add more possibilities and great combinations to hunting teams; for me, I stick to Adept Sword and Shield due to the evasion + mounting combination; while I may not do a lot of damage compared to Great Sword at times, it's ability to mount makes it easier to set up mounts and extra damage after toppling the monster. I admit I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a new weapon; was hoping to see a new one to be honest but at the same time, the styles do make some weapons that were "underpowered/useless" become able to shine very well and even make overpowering weapons even more "broken" Overall, I'd give this game a 9/10 for my scale, but for this scale of 1-5 I'll have to give it a 5/5; great game, fast-paced, strategic fighting especially when solo, great monsters new and old; the only thing that I wish they would have done (which for me would have secured 10/10 for me) would be to add EVERY single monster from EVERY generation and bring them ALL to Generations Ultimate as I feel that would definitely make the game live up to its name; my opinion Despite that, this game is a must-own for the switch in my opinion as someone who has played all the regular games (and played a couple spin-offs like Monster Hunter Stories); if you love fighting different varieties of monsters, having cats as friends who help you, and just flat-out battling monsters alongside friends, this game is for you

This is a great game if you want more Monsters to hunter after playing Monster Hunter world. They're 80+ Monsters, G-rank (Hardcore Mode), Portability is the best feature especially if you do not have time to sit in front of a T.v for hours.

Coming From Monster Hunter World as my first Master Hunter game ever played (Dino Crisis) I have played the game for about 4 hours so far and Im liking the game. This game is little more challenging but just like any game, you have to get use to it. Has lot more fighting types, quests and Armor. Recommended to any Monster Hunter Player. I you like to use Bow Guns on Monster Hunter World, you may not like how the gaming system work here, this game is more friendly with Male weapons which Im loving the sword and shield at the moment. The Portability is huge cause as an Adult my self I have multiple responsibilities at work and at home, so having portability to play on the go when ever i find a break is awesome. Thank you Capcom for bringing the game to Nintendo Switch

I'd recommend if you're into the series. It has the most Monsters in game out of any other game in the series. There is over a hundred hours of game play easily. and if you're really into it you could play many many more hours than that in one save file.
