The Best Buy total protection plan pays for itself in the sense that you you are covered on All of your purchased products once you have the total protection plan. Plus, you can get refunds on any amount lower than the purchase amount if a sale occurs on the product within 60 days from purchase date. I’ve already obtained $540 in refunds on a few items that dropped in price.

A warranty is always good. This makes the buyer feel at ease knowing that protection is in place .

Haven't used it yet but the store has been very understanding when it comes to 60-day returns. It's not like it was in the 90's when you could go into a show room at Circuit City and hear the speakers personally before buying. This service alone is worth the year price of membership if you don't live near a big showroom like Crutchfield or Magnolia Best Buy location. 24-7 Chat also available.

Offers some feeling of comfort on purchases. A little expensive for a yearly membership. Only beneficial if you buy expensive items or buy a lot of smaller items. Not reasonable for occasional small purchases.
