Positives
-I terms of raw gameplay the game is great, feels more fluid than Mortal Kombat 11 but not quite as fast as Mortal Kombat X or 9.
-The kameo system so far is interesting and I look forward to testing out how each kameo compliments the main roster, and how good of a replacement it is for the variations system from 11 and X.
-The story itself while following up on MK11, does some nice set up for the new status quo and has some good character moments here and there, with arcade endings acting as good epilogues. It probably has some of the best arcade endings in the series.
Downsides
-Very mixed performance on the switch, one way of alleviating this is to turn off replay sharing. There can also be instances where the game gets stuck just loading, it's happened twice so far during arcade runs.
-Single player content is also very limited, the invasions mode is incomplete in this port so after story and arcade the only other thing to do is play online.
-Online play is very unstable and disconnecting during a match will happen. Since online is also your main way of gaining xp for cosmetic unlocks, it should be noted it is very much a grind that will take a lot of time especially if you're not winning consistently.
-This game is mostly absent from the cartridge, around 6 gb is on it with about a 30 gb download being required
So, on a pure gameplay basis I can recommend this game, but probably not at this price point given the technical issues and lack of stuff to do.

Pretty fun game, although the gameplay graphics are not the best… it also tends to crash in story mode and invasions mode. Also it’s more internet orientated, as you’ll need to be online to do almost anything. But I love the MK series and the story writing is immaculate and intriguing. It was also be helpful to mention that I’m playing on a older switch lite.

Story: 7.5/10, engaging, well played out, interesting plot, new twists, last few chapters could’ve used a polish. Cast: 9/10, 22 starters should’ve been 25 absolutely no reason we should be paying extra for a pre order character and two dlc characters that play such integral roles in the story mode, gameplay is fun if a bit convoluted. Side content: 7/10, invasions tries to be too many things at once, the concept is fun the execution is pretty and the outcome is a bit messy, think AAA mobile game, classic towers thankfully remain largely the same as past iterations, no pay to win mechanics but micro transactions are still very present. Some small quality of life fixes are needed here and there, but overall a very pretty, mostly polished addition to the franchise. Nothing extremely impressive but certainly not a flop either. The game requires substantial storage and will need updates before you can start playing. Occasionally, the Switch struggles to keep pace with the loading times and graphics, though overall performance is generally satisfactory.

Some technical issues in lower resolution graphics and long loading times, but mostly expected on Switch vs PS5. Gameplay is very fun, and like the past few MK games, includes a great story mode.

I bought this for my oldest niece birthday. She absolutely loves it and said I should get it for my console. Other then that I can't fib because I've only seen videos and have yet to play the game. Looks amazing I would buy and recommend from what I've seen.

I love this game, minus the wait time pre fight. Player selection is awesome, game graphics stunning, game play pretty dope. Try it for yourself, don't take my word.
