Every MK is similar play style. The best thing about the game is the add-on character content. Make sure to get the game of year edition or complete edition. The standard edition does not include and can be pricey through PSN.

Fun game. I would like to see them develop more characters but I can’t complain. Graphics and gameplay are excellent.

It's a good game because of the shiny graphics, detailed story, and a good enough base roster. It's a bad fighter because they needlessly made the gameplay slow, removed a bunch of combos, and the new regenerating meter mechanic is a band aid to nrs typical game design where spammers have more meter than their opponent, so to 'fix' this, meter refills on it's own. The problem with this is that it removes skill from a game franchise that's already not very deep to play. Fatal blows are too fast, far reaching, have armor, and if you miss, you can get another one in the same round, really scrubby!
