Nice phone; I've had Motorola phones before and I liked them. Quit buying Moto because of their dismal update policies and lack of NFC. The Motorola Edge fixed that for me. Three years of updates and NFC in the Edge. Near flagship features, not exactly flagship quality. Plastic build, and not waterproof. The fingerprint reader is kind of wonky, as some other reviewers have said. However, 256gb storage, 5g connectivity, great display, decent size, 5000ma battery, lightweight, and good specs make this a 4 star cell phone in my book. I don't do a lot of photos, so the camera is not that important to me, but it is a nice camera...not a 5 star camera, but a good serviceable camera. This is the 2022 Edge, so it's a "last year" product and also priced accordingly. I was happy to get a $500 phone for only $250. So far, I am pretty happy with the Motorola Edge.

I loved my old phone. Had it for six years until the screen cracked recently and glass chipped off. Gotta know when to let them go :') It's been about two weeks since I've been using this phone. So far, it's pretty fast and the FPS for gaming is great. It has gestures to make life easier (chop for flashlight, twist for camera) and the connection to other devices are easy and quick (TV, PS5, headphones, etc). Compared to my old phone, the camera is unmatched as it has a selfie mode, dual camera capture and crisp details. It's so satisfying to taking a landscape picture without having to deal with horrible resolution. The memory/space is wonderful, in my case. I can download a fair amount of necessary apps fast without an annoying notification telling me I ran out of space. Contrastingly, if you need to uninstall, it's quick too! Be warned, you cannot expand storage (no mini SD cards...very unfortunate.) The phone itself is slim and made of plastic, which I don't mind since I have a nickel allergy. It fits nicely in pockets but veryyyy smooth. It fell off my bed and nearly out of my shallow pockets before I got a case (it didn't crack, thankfully). Battery is fine, in my opinion. It lasts a little less than a day if you use it enough. Doesn't die quickly with apps in the background, alarm clock and in sleep mode. The only negative things so far: no external space and headphone jack. I don't use wired headphones, but if you need a phone with one, no luck here. 8.5/10 loving it so far!

I bought this phone in 2023, it's now 2025. Honestly didn't have very high expectations and never owned a Motorola prior. Always Samsung or Apple etc. To my surprise, this phone has not only exceededy expectations, but has been amazing in terms of quality and durability. The sound quality is the best I've had in a phone, camera impeccable, and even after 2 years has great battery life, processing, (even with all my apps,) and I have yet to run out of storage. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get a great phone for an even greater price.

Great battery life, great screen, good rear main camera, love dual camera, very thin and light, Things I don't like: no headphone jack, no ac charger, front camera can't be manually adjusted in video mode to stop auto ISO and white balance; so selfie videos can't lock exposure while walking and vlogging in sun and clouds changes. Taking forever to update to Android 13, if ever it will. Great price, 256 GB, 8 GB RAM, I edit my vlogs right on my phone with no lagging. I would buy a second one.

I bought it as a successor of Edge 2021. It doesn't have charger in box, but since I have many USB-PD chargers, I just use one for it (it seems to take 18 watts charging) Display is one of its strength. It looks just gorgeous and smooth, but it's slightly smaller than Edge+ 2022. Speakers are really good especially for music playing. You can use either analog or digital headphones adapter. Battery seems to be good for my use. It can achieve 9 hours SOT when I stream Philo over Wi-Fi continuously (Edge 2021 can get 10 hours). Since display is P-OLED, dark theme can help lowering battery consumption. It's rather snappy like Edge 2021. MTK processor actually does the job well. File transfer works better over Wi-Fi 6. It does support T-Mobile B71 and N71, and it supports VoNR but you have to enable manually. It supports bi-directional wireless charging but I don't have the hardware yet. Cam seems to be good even under dark. Actually, it's a good Edge 2021 successor while battery is a bit less

The 2022 Motorola Edge almost has it all with battery run time of 2 days, 5G compatability, terrific cameras, 256GB internal memory + 8GB RAM, 6.6" OLED display, stereo speakers, 30WWired or 15W wireless charging, and an octacore processor. But why no memory card slot, Motorola?

    Love My Edge!

I purchased the Motorola Edge 2022 5G - 256GB (unlocked) - Mineral Gray to replace a Motorola G Power (2020 model). Although I've had the phone for only about two weeks, I really have zero complaints at this point. I will add to my review at a later date if something happens to change my mind about this phone. I will break down my review into two parts. Part 1 - Purchase and Activation: This was my first time purchasing and activating an unlocked phone, and the transition could not have gone smoother in my opinion. The price of $249.99 was $350 off the MSRP of $599.99. I actually saved even more, because to purchase this phone on a 3-year plan from my carrier would have cost me $659.88! This was a no brainer. The phone arrived in perfectly new condition in a previously unopened box (I have read the horror stories about how people have purchased what they thought were new, unlocked phones from Amazon, only to discover that what they received had been previously used by someone else!). I appreciate Best Buy's integrity in this regard! Activating the phone could not have been easier. I simply took the sim card out of my Moto G Power and put it in my Moto Edge and I immediately had service and was up and running. It was a breeze to move all my apps from my old phone to my new one using the double ended USB-C cord that came with the Edge. Although my old phone was a 4G LTE, I am able to access my carrier's 5G network wherever it is available in my area. (As a sidenote: I didn't actually have to pay any activation fee to my carrier, since I didn't need their assistance to get my phone up and running with the old sim card. Yes, they do know that I am using a different phone on their network, as it shows up on my account as a Motorola Edge 2022, but they did not charge me any fee on my newest bill. I simply chose the option to activate my phone at a later date when placing my order with Best Buy and did not name a specific carrier.) To date, I have not had a single issue with missed/dropped calls or not being able to send/receive text messages. I have been able to make/receive wifi calls and texts with no issues. Everything has been perfect regarding basic functioning on my carrier's network. :) Part 2 - The Edge Itself: I'm not going to go into great detail here as I'm sure my phone use and preferences are much different from other consumers. The pros: GREAT battery life (not a big gamer, but I do play a few games here and there throughout the day, listen to music at work, and watch the 3-hour Pat McAfee Show on Youtube, and still haven't gotten anywhere close to running the battery down completely. The lowest has been between 50-60% after extended play. The graphics and processor speed are exceptional for what I need my phone to do--blazing fast in my opinion. Sound is great. Clarity and volume when talking on the phone has been fine--no noticeable difference between the Edge and G Power. I actually prefer the fingerprint reader on the Edge to the one on the G Power. The reader is near the bottom of the screen on the Edge and is extremely sensitive, whereas the reader was on the back of the G Power and quite often took numerous attempts to get it to read correctly. I also like the fact that the Motorola Action Bar is at the bottom of the screen also. No more need to swipe to go back to previous web pages, etc. Also much easier to shrink and close apps than it was with the G Power. Not having the action bar was a major shortcoming on the G Power in my personal opinion. I have no opinion on the camera since I don't take many photos, but I'm sure it takes good pictures since the camera quality is superior to the G Power and I didn't have any issues with that one. Cons: The lack of a 3.5 mm headphone jack is a slight inconvenience but nothing major--it's not like I don't own multiple varieties of wireless audio devices. It was also an inconvenience to have to purchase a 27w/30w charger, which is what Motorola recommends for this phone. But I found good deals for AC adapters and a wireless Motorola charger on Amazon, so it was by no means a deal breaker. In a nutshell: I love this phone and couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I would sincerely encourage all Motorola enthusiests to do the same!

I believed I purchased for under $350 in the summer of 2023 and I'm still quite pleased with this purchase (15 months later). 1) Battery life is still strong and I can still just charge it once every day or day-and-a-half. That is, when I don't try to stream anything on it for an hour-plus in a day. 2) Speed: The phone is still very fast with basic user operations; I don't notice a lag or it getting bottle-necked. 3) Screen is sharp enough and I'm pleased with the picture. 4) Touch: phone screen seems to respond well to my touch, although I've never been a fast texter with touch screens and still seem to be slightly off and touch the letter next to the one I'm looking for. 5) Speakers: My last Motorola had really wimpy speakers that you could barely hear even when full volume; this are exceedingly better! and the sound quality is clear. 6) Fit app: I didn't know about this app until last year, and I have fun with it trying to get my goal steps in. This seems to have helped me to return to my BMI (after 15 years above it) and maintain it, by paying more attention to the calories I put in in a day and the amount of exercise I get. 7) Photos: I don't take a ton nor am I a professional, but my wife and I have been really impressed with the sharpness of the photos and its ability to capture shots with various lighting.

I have had this phone for a couple months, and I'm satisfied with it. This is an upgrade from my Moto G Power. It has a better quality camera and more memory. I got the unlocked version, and use Consumer Cellular as my carrier. This phone will work with any carrier you want to use. Good quality sound and easily pairs with wireless earbuds. Phone calls are clear, and no issues with texting. The phone has great battery life. It has a feature called optimized charging that helps preserve battery life and prevent over-charging. It doesn't have a 3.5mm jack, but I solved that problem by buying a Bluetooth adaptor to stream music in the car. Overall, a great phone.

This is the 2nd set of Motorola phones that we have purchased. The first set (Moto G Stylus) was still fully functional at 3+ years, but our daughter needed a phone, so we bought a pair of Motorola Edge 2022. WOW, What a great phone packed with features! It takes great photos, it has tons of storage, it was easy to set up by myself, and it's very easy to operate. The battery life is fantastic. We would definitely buy this phone again!

I love everything about this phone, i was using my galaxy s23 before buying this one. No regrets, it is a beautiful phone. The way that I’m able to customize it even better than my galaxy s23. Gorgeous display, 144 Hz refresh rate it’s just crazy. 8GB RAM, 256 GB storage I don’t need anything else. Im in my fourth week of using it, and not a single problem with it, no lags, no draining battery or anything. Working nice and smooth, thank you MOTOROLA!!

I brought this for my daughter. She loves it. It has been great for her heavy gaming and good battery life. Camera is pretty good. At $250 this is a ABSOLUTE steal. Especially with 230GB usable of storage. Just sad there's no expandable options for a SD card. But still a great phone for the price plus wireless charging and 30 watt charging.

I am Very impressed with the 2022 Edge! It's performance go a step above other "mid tier" phones and is currently the best overall value in it's class! I'm using the "unlocked" Edge on the Verizon network. It works great, very fast 5G, and has consistently strong signal! Fast processor with 8g Ram, great for streaming music or trading stocks on multiple apps!

I like to thank you for the great customer service, and efficient expedition with delivery. I recommend not only the Motorola Edge 2022 for its great performance, but the customer service and care they took to help. The phone it self is great! The price, the amount of memory, the easiness of it all. Great features and easy to use. The best buy customer service: friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The process was quick and painless, but the delivery had a slight snug. Not a big deal. Over all, 5 stars well deserved. Thank you again.
