I’ve been using the Moto G 2025 for a few weeks, and it’s a solid mid-range phone with excellent value for the price. The 128GB storage is more than enough for apps, photos, and videos, and the performance is smooth for everyday use like browsing, streaming, and light gaming. The battery life is impressive—I can easily get through a full day with moderate to heavy usage. The display is bright and clear, though not as sharp as flagship phones. The camera works well in good lighting, but low-light photos could be better. I also appreciate that it’s unlocked, making it flexible with different carriers. Overall, this phone is a reliable choice for someone who wants good performance, long battery life, and plenty of storage without spending a fortune.

Super easy to set up, runs smooth, and the battery life is great — easily gets me through the day. The screen looks really nice and the camera does a solid job too. This is my first Motorola phone and it's not bad considering the low price. I was starting to grow tired of Pixels and Samsungs (their most budget models, that is) as those can get boring after a while so I wanted to try something different. Pros: - Nice design makes it look and feel premium - Leathery back provides grip. This is the first time I didn't need to buy a case. Please don't ever change this, Motorola! - UI looks clean and simple similar to Pixels - Software has lots of fun features and gestures. Double tap to turn on/off the screen and split app view are among my favorites. - Overall speed and performance is decent as long as you have strong Wifi Cons: - Stuttery performance on mobile network. 5G feels almost as slow as my old phone's 4G. - RAM boost feels like a gimmick. I didn't notice much difference. Who knows if it really does anything. Review critics have said they felt an improvement so I'll just take their word for it. - Poor screen quality with lots of reflections, poor viewing angles, and landscape mode is completely unviewable with sunglasses. All common traits of a cheap LCD screen. - Frequently struggling to get the brightness exactly how I want it. I don't have Adaptive Brightness turned on or anything. The problem is the slider needs to have smaller incremental changes. The jump in brightness is too big. Not sure if this is due to Android 15 or Motorola software. Never had this issue with any of my previous phones so this is very unusual and strange to me. - 0% brightness is still too bright in a dark room - Night mode doesn't get amber enough even with max intensity - Some bloatware but not as bad as Samsung. They're not bothersome except for the ad-filled 1Weather app. Disable it first before setting the weather. This way it'll use Motorola's stock weather app instead. - Don't really like any of the fonts. Even the 'Android' font doesn't look quite right as sometimes it can look as if Bold Text was on. The thick bold font of the time, date, and weather on the home screen can't be changed to look smaller. - '50 MP Quad Pixel' imprint on the back looks kinda tacky - They really need to change the default Moto ringtone to something else Despite all the cons, there's still plenty of good things going for it. The cheap screen and slower performance is to be expected on a budget phone and I'm perfectly okay with that. It's still a fun phone to use and I'm enjoying it. Sometimes using a product that doesn't break the bank can feel more humbling and it makes you appreciate it more. Would buy Motorola again in the future.

The 2025 Motorola Moto G 5G is a solid budget smartphone that offers great value for its price. It has a large display, smooth performance for everyday tasks, and strong battery life that easily lasts through the day. The camera is decent for casual photos, and it supports 5G connectivity, which is a nice bonus at this price point. While it doesn’t have premium features or the sharpest screen, it gets the basics right, making it a reliable choice for users who just need a simple, affordable phone that works well.

I needed to replace my 5 year old Tracfone which was becoming difficult to keep charged. No Tracfone-specific models were available so I bought this unlocked phone. I had to purchase a SIM card from Tracfone but then everything got transferred from my old phone with no problems. Great voice quality and I especially appreciate that it can take calls over Wi-Fi. I'm in an older house with plaster walls and would often have calls drop or go right to voicemail with my old phone. Camera much better than my old phone but I'm only a casual photographer. Touch sensor provides a quick turn-on. Doubt I'll ever fill up the 128 GB memory. Now some things to be aware of. No wireless charging but that would be a lot to ask of a sub-$200 phone. It has a USB-C connector which is the standard now and comes with only a charging cable with USB-C on both ends. So if you have a charger with USB-A connector you'll have to buy a new cable. I also had to buy a new cable to connect to Android Auto in my car and I'm having problems with that. At first it refused to be recognized by my car. After searching online, I found the suggestion to enable developer options. Yesterday it connected to my car but today it didn't. My old phone always connected. I'll have to look into it some more.

    BEST $200 PHONE FOR 2025

The 2025 Moto G offers most of the benefits of a $400 phone for half the price. It is the ONLY phone in its price range with the newest Android 15 software in February 2025. Motorola has committed to updating the software until 2028. The screen is sharp with an accurate color balance. The Moto has dual stereo speakers at the top and bottom with Dolbt Atmos to obtain amazing sound quality. My JBL bluetooth speaker has deeper, tighter bass with the Moto than with other phones. The Moto G has enough RAM for Netflix, Spotify and web surfing. It is NOT a game machine...it will struggke with games that demand twice as much RAM. It took a day to download and install my favorite apps, download endless software updates and then remove some silly games that were pre-installed. After the updates were completed, apps opened quickly and ran smoothly. Running two or rhree apps is fine but it runs better if you close the apps you are no longer using. For anyone coming from a different $200 phone, the Moto is an upgrade. Someone coming from a $400 phone might be surprised at how small the differences are.

Wanted a phone with expandable storage and 3.5 mm jack. Have always had Motorola phones and narrowed it down to this one. REALLY hard to find. My carrier only offered it as pre paid, which is so weird, and the manufacturer website was sold out. I do wish Best Buy had had it in Sapphire, but otherwise so easy get it from Best Buy! I work nights and get home before they open. I really wanted it immediately because I hit critical mass with how slow my phone had gotten. I really hate changing phones and kept putting it off. Paid $10 delivery fee and the local store delivered it that day while I slept! So easy!! Hopefully when I change phones in the future I can do it this way again! A thousand times easier than going through my carrier with no salesperson involved. The phone is as expected. If you're a fan of the lower cost Motorola models like I am, you will love this phone. Unless you're wanting some outlier capability like playing a game that requires a lot of processing or a fancy camera, this guy does everything the more expensive phones do for a couple hundred bucks. I bought a 1T sd card for $100, which I factored in when looking for phones. So yeah! Great phone

Four stars, mostly for the price point. For 200, or cheaper on sale, you really can't beat it. runs all apps smoothly, clean looking profile, the vegan leather does feel nice in the hand and look cool, refresh rate is good, and the battery life is very nice, runs android 15 with no noticeable lag or load times even better on wifi, I have not noticed any problems with service. I took away a star for 2.5 reasons, the camera, while better than any other 200$ phone, is not on the same level as some of the "AAA" phones but if you're not VERY keen on taking pictures it's a non-issue because the photos it does take are OK. The lock / fingerprint button on the side of the phone, while being impressivley small, is in the wooorst spot possible. You can not hold the phone without activating the haptic feedback. Its sad because the button is tiny and works WELL but it should be on the left side of the phone not the right, but for 200$ you figure out how to avoid it within a couple of days. Lastly the display is crisp but viewing at angles is not like an oled you will notice some fading, but its a cell phone just hold it in front of you. All in its a good phone and even better for the price point, great as a backup, or for a young adult / senior, even a daily driver if you want to save 80% of your money and get 90% of the same product.

I bought this phone because I need a replacement phone for the time being. I usually get iPhones but got the cheapest phone I could get in stock at the store. Camera works good, was light weight compared to iPhones, screen was big, and overall was satisfied with it. I just didn’t like how it kind of lagged when I would tap on apps.
