Okay for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Broke the screen on my Nexus 6 and bought this as a replacement since at the time it was cheaper than sending the Nexus back to Motorola for repair/replacement. I know this is not meant to compete with the Moto Nexus 6, but it seems very sluggish when opening or switching between apps. I use my phone for more than just calls and texting, but by no means a power user with multiple apps running or with it glued to my nose all day. Perhaps the Nexus has spoiled me, but this definitely seems slower than it should be, even compared to my phone before the Nexus, a Blu Sport 4.5. In summary, probably okay as a phone and has a pretty good camera, but I will be going ahead with getting my Nexus 6 screen replaced!

A True and Honest Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start off, I originally had the 1st gen version of the Moto G (2013). That phone was perfect, but unfortunately I dropped it and broke it by accident. When I heard that Best Buy sold the 2nd gen version, I quickly jumped on board to get the new version. This was a big mistake and a huge let down. The first day of ownership I was amazed by the bigger screen and front facing speakers. Those 2 things are the only benefits the new version has on the 1st gen. After a couple of days I started having memory issues and the phone could not multitask with apps. For example: If I was listening to music and then go to browse the web with Chrome, the phone would automatically kill my music running in the background. The phone also became extremely laggy and unresponsive at times. Thinking that this was a fluke and I had a bad phone, I took it back to Best Buy and got another one. The 2nd phone I got was even worse than the first Moto G. The 2nd phone had recessed buttons that made it extremely hard to press, the touch screen sensitivity was way too high (made it impossible to type on), and it had all the same issues that the first Moto G had. After doing some research on the web, according to multiple websites and support forums the new Moto G is plagued with issues. Especially the memory management problem for multitasking. Motorola might fix this in future Android 5.0 Lollipop updates, but right now this phone is unusable with Kit Kat. My suggestion for future buyers would be to skip this generation of the Moto G and either get the 1st Gen or something else. The 1st gen performs better in everyday tasks and the screen is sharper and brighter. Motorola should have added 2 GB of ram in this phone. 1 GB of ram is not enough to run the bigger screen and the newest features of Android. I know this phone is tempting for the price, but this phone is not good. Motorola really let down the ball on this phone.

my dad loves it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this phone as a gift for my dad who lives overseas and he loves the camera as well as the display quality. Only minor complaint is the responsiveness of touch is quite not on par with samsung phones. Works great overseas with GSM networks.
