Great Phone!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Astounding phone for such an unbelievable price. I bought this for $85 on sale (unlocked, even) after reading the reviews on Best Buy's website. I was picky between this and the 3rd generation because of the spec "race" and, of course, "upgrade" that goes along with being newer, but I decided on the 2nd generation for the sale price and the size. I haven't had a phone since 2009, and even then, I've only owned carrier-brand flip phones. This was a big decision, and as someone who has plunged money into various high-expenditure ventures, I have got to say that the Moto G and the lack of a plan I got for it (I just use minutes, I don't like carriers) is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It completely replaced my laptop. I do recommend buying from Best Buy, or at the very least do what I did and do some research on phones before you buy, because I almost bought the Polaroid smartphone because I value the Polaroid brand and almost sank $100 into half the amount of RAM and a dual-core processor, against the Motorola's twice amount of RAM (1GB) and quad-core processor (clocked at somewhere above 1.05ghz where the Polaroid and even the iPhone I was considering doesn't even hit 1.00ghz.) Definitely a good phone for the price.

Very solid phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for my son as a replacement for his broken Idol 3. Prior to the Idol 3 he had a 2013 Moto G, which also is a solid phone but had no LTE. The 2015 Moto G has a nice screen, solid construction and the OS is about as close as you can get to stock Android. This phone is a great upgrade over the older Moto G and is a great value for the money.

After about 3 months with this thing...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still quite satisfied! No, it's not the best phone out there, but considering the VERY modest price point at $179.99, this phone delivers! No other phone around this price even comes close. If you are willing to spend more, go for the Moto X 2nd Gen at $499.99 unlocked (at the time of this review).

My 1st smart phone that's also a GOOD PHONE!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a sophisticated smartphone user, because I live in the Sticks and signal strength from any carrier (on AT&T now) is poor, at best. The "smart" features are handy when I am in an urban area with good coverage, and not intolerably slow at home. However, my other smartphones have been poor at making, taking and holding calls in weak signal areas, so they were not suitable for my typical usage. The Moto G, however, is actually BETTER at weak signal calls than my lame LG "feature phone" was. I'm slowly figuring out what apps I really need, and making the phone a more useful tool. (Why the hell doesn't a smartphone come with a decent file manager?) But for now, I'm just pleased I can make or receive a call or text in most areas of my home and land, and when I find a magic spot with a fair signal, make use of it as a broadband portal. Motorola seems to understand that a smartphone is a radio, as well as a computer, and that poor radio performance makes a smartphone a brick in weak-signal areas. Halleluiah. Somebody figured out we don't all live in the metropolis with cell sites on every building. And yet, we need cell phones with more than a little "smart" in them. I like my "g".
