I won't repeat what so many others have said - will just summarize. But will point out one thing some are not just FYI... there are two versions of this phone: One around $179 and the other around $219.00. The more expensive of the two will get you an extra gig of RAM (2) and more storage (16 gigs) instead of just 1 gig of RAM and 8 gigs of storage in the cheaper model. If all you do is check email and text, it really won't matter, but if you use apps like Periscope for instance, you will see a difference. Also in overall speed of the phone. So if you can afford it, I'd splurge for the more expensive of the two. You can still add a micro SD card for photo/video storage in either model. The 5" screen is not a full HD screen but still plenty bright and sharp for what it is. Not great but good cameras (much improved over previous Moto phones, though). Battery will get you through the day if you're a light to medium user - heavy users MIGHT have to top off in the early evening. If you're a gamer or use intensive apps in general, I'd recommend splurging on the unlocked Moto X Pure which can run from $299 to $499 depending on sales which BB puts on quite a bit on them. Larger Quad HD screen, 3 gigs or RAM, and a faster processor. But regardless, the Moto G 3rd generation, for the price, is not a bad choice for the average cell phone user. Side note: As a couple of people have pointed out, when you're setting up the phone, check for system updates. It WILL update to Android 6.0 - get that out of the way before you start using it. Less hiccups later that way and it's done.

Great price-value relation. It is a very good phone that can take almost all basics and more. It is not a high end but if your use is not so demanding you can do almost anything. no bloatware. Would recommend it to many type users. If you are more demanding the MOTO X wold do it for some extra cash.

For the given price the mobile is good when compared with other brands. Battery backup is good, Strong when compared to samsung and others. Camera is Ok, Cons No multi tasking and multiscreen. Take hour+ to charge fully. Headphones/ earbuds not included with the box.

I purchased this phone for my 14 year old son about 4 months ago. It is a very solid phone and great for a teen. He has been very happy with it so far, it runs all his apps and works great. I would purchase again in the future for my daughter when she is old enough.

Wanted something with good performance at a reasonable price. I can run all the SW I had on an insignia tablet better than the tablet. Works on Tracfone network so I can connect @ 4G if I want to.

This is a very decent phone It's definitely better and faster then my old Moto X first generation while still keeping the same elements. There are still some quirks to it that I don't love but overall for the money you can't beat the value.

Third one we purchased. Motorola hit nail on the head by including compass. Works great with hiking applications. Just carry a spare charger for 1 to 3 day hikes. Dont forget real maps and handheld sighting compass as backup.
