Functional but slow, only buy if small budget

Feels slower today than it did when I purchased it, likely due to the surprisingly frequent "updates" that improved something I don't use. Probably avoid this phone unless it's your only budget option, in which case yeah, it is a phone that does work, eventually.

Moto G Play, a good, reliable cellphone

So far, the Moto G Play phone fits those requirements quite well. I have 2 small issues with this phone: !) That a hard copy instruction manual was not included with the phone. 2) Battery life seems a little short.

Good phone for the price, from a known brand
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a budget unlocked phone, and this was perfect for what I needed. Sure, it is not meant for power users but is more than sufficient for my needs. The screen is very good with a large screen and looks nice, but it's not high definition resolution. The wifi while watching videos can lag behind sometimes depending on the video, where it can struggle at 720p and up. It has a very good UI and cameras that have many options in photography. The battery life lasts about 2 days with normal use. Setup takes quite awhile, due to updates and will take time to get everything updated and set up. The good news is that Android 13 was available to download. I updated the phone from Android 12 to Android 13 and have had no issues so far, same performance. Calling and the signal is great, where I can hear clearly and the microphones are very good too even if I have a soft voice. Performance is not bad, and it is usable for average use. It is not unbearably slow, but don't expect flagship speeds. It is fast for what it is, not laggy or slow. The storage is low at 32GB, but can be expanded with a micro SD card. Overall, I am satisfied with this phone and highly recommend it and I am impressed with the Motorola brand. This has been my daily driver for many days now, and I don't have any complaints. I was wary due to online reviews, but it works just fine. It's not a flagship with the hefty price, but it works for what it is.
