I had no issues with either phone model. I really liked them, and they were always only replaced due to battery bulging. I opted to get the Moto G Play 2023 model when I found that the replacement phones I was getting from the Best Buy warranty were refurbished instead of new. Note: my last replacement 2021 phone was terrible. It had severe ghost touch issues...even answering messages from my manager when I was in the bed asleep. I thought the Moto G Play 2023 was going to be just like the previous versions, i.e., the same features since it only comes in a 32GB offering. Needless to say, I was taken aback when I found out I could not reformat my 256GB SD card to internal storage as done previously. My storage is now 75% used after less than one month. This is interesting since all I do is periodically talk, text, and track my Fitbit. I don't play games and other things any more due to the low internal storage. If Motorola is not going to offer the ability expand the internal memory, then please don't load the phone with all of the unwanted pre-loaded apps (social media apps, etc.) I have deleted quite a few however I am unsure of what some of the moto apps are for, so they are still there for now. Another thing that really bugs me is the battery life. The previous phones had very long battery life for the way I use it. As I mentioned, it is only for periodic talking, texting and Fitbit tracking, so the charge would last a week at least...unless I played some games. Now, I have to charge the battery every 2-3 days (I let it get down to 30% or less). I am glad I was able to buy the phone on sale for 99.99 (the price I paid for all the other G Plays), otherwise, I would be more upset. I'm going to assume this phone is more inferior because they were probably designed/manufactured during/post Covid, with all the supply chain issues that occurred afterward. I'll just deal with this phone until the battery starts to bulge again in a few years. I understand that the 2024 will be launched soon. I will definitely research it before I purchase it. If it is still the same, I will probably end up going to another model or perhaps another manufacturer altogether.

It's kind of a learning curve to go back to android and the phone honestly isn't the best, but it worked for what I needed it for. It's nice to know you can just buy an unlocked replacement from Best Buy and not have to deal with contracts or any long drawn out bs.
