Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Moto G Plus (5th Gen) as a budget-friendly smartphone with an impressive camera and long battery life. They appreciate the ease of use and the fact that it is unlocked. However, some users have expressed concerns about the lack of NFC, occasional slow performance, subpar sound quality, and quiet speakers.

Great phone. Fast and camera is very good. Better than my Droid Maxx 2. Can't beat $219. Bought 2 of them. Don't hesitate to buy if your thinking about it. Verizon was a snap to switch my sim card, no problems.

I didn't want to sign a contract not pay a lease fee. I had my eye on this phone and bought an open box model. I really like the phone so far and it's way faster then the Samsung Galaxy 4 (I know, that's an old phone). I'm still trying to figure things out on it. Something as basic as calling someone had me stumped, lol. The first call I made was trying to call a coworker to come help me and I ended up calling my aunt who is in her 90's and wanted to chit chat. Anyways, I know how to call someone now. The thing that I hate is that it shows I have voicemail and I can't seem to get rid of the notification. I've tried everything they suggest and still can't get rid of it. I would recommend it to friends and family.

Wanted a phone with 32GB for Boost Mobile without paying over $400. It is nice to not have all the bloatware that comes with a Boost Phone also. Battery life is good so far and I am very happy with the phone overall.

Can't believe the price of this, quick charger, beautiful screen, 1080p resolution, its basically the youngest brother of a way more expensive Pixel phone, great performance and battery, specially for the price!!!

I never had a Motorola phone before. I thought Samsung was the best but this phone has exceeded Samsung. Love it. Everything works great, battery has long charge, pictures are excellent. What is there left to say.

Moto G Plus delivers what it promises. Fast, good camera and screen resolution. I am not heavy phone user i.e. less one playing mobile games, however heavy on message, email, reading. Does the job fine.

I use Google products exclusively but I don't need a $600+ phone. I call, text and check my email and peruse the internet (like everyone else). I don't care about how well the camera is (I use a professional DSLR for that) , the pixels per inch, and how well it displays the color egg shell white. I grew up with pagers and CRT monitors...trust me those worked fine. Does it display information in which your brain chemically interprets signals from your eyes? Yes. Does it produce sound in which your auditory ossicles receive to hear? Yup. So I am not entirely sure why people are lauding these high end phones. End of the day they still break when dropped, make phone calls, send texts and produce adequate resolution for videos.

I upgraded from the Moto G3. I have always had a good experience with Motorola phones. It is close to stock Android with no bloatware. Motorola has been good in the past about software support. They have said the device will be upgraded to Oreo soon.

This is an unlocked phone touted to be completely compatible with Verizon. Close. Photos, documents, music, etc. that you saved to the cloud are not retrievable with this phone. I suspect it's because Verizon does not sell this phone so it's system does not recognize it as an authorized phone. I would also point out that this phone does not allow you to download ringtones, a minor annoyance but I set different ringtones for frequent callers so I knew without looking who was calling. Still, the phone meets my basic needs. Calls are clear. The camera is great and easy to access. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the HTC it's replacing but for the price, it's a great phone.

I read a comparison a few Sundays ago in the SJ Mercury about 4 economical phones just before my phone started to die. I checked out 3 of them. [Since I came from Intel, I wouldn't touch an Apple phone] and the Moto was great. Andy was super speedy in setting up my phone. It's worked great, love the features.

I purchased this phone because I was looking for an unlocked phone with at least 32 GB of memory and a fast processing speed. This phone was perfect, with a fingerprint sensor that was actually faster than some other big company flagship phones. Its gesture mode where you only need to swipe the fingerprint sensor to go back or open the apps menu is very handy, and once you get used to it, you can't go without it. Display quality is great, and can handle multiple apps that use a lot of the RAM at the same time with very little issue. I definitely recommend this phone if you're not willing to pay big bucks for flagship phones but still want speed and quality display.

I travel often and wanted an unlocked phone that had a recent enough OS to be able to support any downloaded apps I might want to install. I chose this make and model because it supports the most carriers. The battery has a longer than average longetivity which means I can even go for up to 3days without recharging it. It came with more than ample storage but can be expanded. The processor and android platform is similar to my Galaxy but for the price, a way better bargain. I don't need all the extraneous apps that come preloaded with the Samsung and I prefer that it doesn't support NFC, so I don't accidentally get swiped...I'm more than pleased with this device.
