You may try resetting the device with the Automatic Restore disabled and see if that would work.

As good as a $700 phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a Pantech Discover with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich since the beginning of 2013. Loved that phone! But it's getting harder to find accessories and keep up the newest trends. So I set out to find a new phone. I did not want a $500-700 contract phone. After reviewing and playing with several phones, I found myself at Best Buy in front of the Moto G5 Plus and knew this was my phone. I've had it for a week, and I'm very happy. I have small hands, and my Pantech was 5.3" tall and 2.7" wide, which was perfect. I didn't want a big phone, and I wouldn't want to go any bigger than the G5. But it has a nice large screen, easy to see and use features and keyboard. It has the new 7.0 Nougat, and coming from the 4.0, I can't tell if some things are on all Androids or are exclusive to the G5. I don't like the Google search bar on the home screen. You can't remove it, move it, or resize it. It's there. But there's a tutorial that tells you how to upload a new launcher, and you could pick one that doesn't have a search bar. Aside from that, all of the app icons are moveable and removable, and most all of the apps can be uninstalled. No more Google and AT&T bloatware that you never use that constantly wants updates. The lock screen is really cool, the clock and any notifications lightly flash across the screen when you bump or move the phone. You can also swipe to unlock then, so you don't even have to push a button to start the unlock process. I have not used the fingerprint lock since I prefer barely having to touch the phone to unlock it. I fully charged phone at 4 am Monday morning and plugged it in just today, Thursday, around noon when it was at 11% battery left. I leave my data on and use Facebook, Yahoo mail, WeatherBug and Google apps all the time, took tons of pictures and video of my dogs, played music, plus texting and a few phone calls. 3 1/2 days on one charge, so battery makes me happy. I like the camera. It's so much better than the 12.6mp camera on my Pantech. Love the ability to take several still shots in a few seconds and keep or discard the frames I wish. Love the slow motion video. Sound quality is good, but I think the volume up all the way on songs distorts the sound a bit. Speakerphone calls have been easy to hear. Alarms, ringtones, notifications all easy to hear. It took some time to figure out how to get my own ringtones into the ringtones folder, but the BBY guy said his phone is the same way, so I guess that's an Android thing. My Pantech you could copy any file and move or paste it anywhere you wanted. I can only drag the Bluetooth or Download folder to the ringtone folder and dump everything in it into ringtones, not individual files. You can 'copy to' or 'move to' but you can't put them anywhere you want to that I can find! But not a huge deal. I can personalize ringtones for different contacts. I can choose different notifications for mail, text, FB, etc. Since phone is not yet released, nobody has cases, so I had to buy online and I'm waiting for them. In the meantime, the phone isn't slippery, it's easy to hold on to. Like I said before, I like that I can just bump it to see the time and any notifications. I don't like that it doesn't show the number of texts or missed calls on the home screen icons. You have to pull down the scroll menu to see what all you've received. Also it has a Do Not Disturb button, but I can't find a simple button to put it on vibrate only. And when texting, it doesn't put a space after a comma, what the heck's up with that? That's probably an Android thing, too. Overall, I'm super happy with this phone. Staff at Best Buy has been super helpful as well, glad I bought it from them. If I have any issues, I will be sure to post them here and update my review. For less than $250, you can't go wrong on getting high end sound, screen, speed and camera.

A couple of quirks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like it well enough. Don't like placement of the headphone jack. Volume when playing music is too hard to get right

Posted .Hi Seesaw, Could you please further explain your concern, are the volume rockers hard to press? or it's the headphone jack which is having an issue? Feel free to send us an email to [email protected] sharing more details. We are more than glad to assist. Thanks. -Rich

Posted .Hi Alyson, thanks for reaching out. This is certainly not typical. May I ask if other devices have signal in those areas? It's possible that those areas have poor reception. But if signal is okay and your device doesn't get reception, you may try resetting the network settings. Go to Settings > Backup and Reset > Network Settings Reset > Reset Phone. Let me know how it goes. -Erwin

It's fine for just needing a basic phone.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't looking to spend $600-800 on a phone, so I bought this one. It's been fine for doing what I need to use it for.

Very disappointed in the phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone, it was open box and geek squad certified. I bought it as a back up, so I didn't use it right away. But when I finally started using it I found that it didn't work well. Even though it was geek squad certified it had a lot of problems. Of course I couldn't take it back because I had it longer than the take back period. 200.00 wasted.
