Not worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved my Moto X but this Moto G5plus is not worth it. Freezes and reboots a few times a day. Nothing fixes it.

We usually do some troubleshooting steps to figure out what our customers are experiencing. You may try checking if your phone's storage is running low, try to run the device without the SD card installed. Let us know if this works.

Best bang for the buck for Verizon Prepaid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My beloved LG G3 went up and I needed a new phone. I am on Verizon prepaid, so I didn't want a contract and I don't want to spend $800 for a phone. For $229, this phone has almost everything I needed, mostly 32GB of storage and more than 1GB of RAM. I would say overall the performance is similar to my LG which still ran great. However, this phone has Android 7.4 which is a plus and the fingerprint reader which allows you to wake your phone with just a touch. WORST FEATURE: NO NFC! NO ANDROID PAY! Not a deal breaker since it will be a while before most places use android pay, but it's a strange omission in such a feature packed device. The extra $70 to the 64GB model also gets you a bump from 2GB to 4GB of RAM, but I find the performance of this 2GB model to be good. If you are glued to your phone 24/7 you might want to pick up the 64gb model. This $229 phone is about 90% as good as an $800 phone, so overall its a great buy if you are on a budget and on a no contract plan

Great phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Broke the screen on my Galaxy S7 a few months in and did not have insurance. Researched many phones and landed on this one. Unless you want to spend $600+ there are not many options. I am blown away by how good this phone performs. I have owned many Androids and iPhones and this phone is almost as good as the flagship phones that are much more expensive. I am done financing phones for now on. This is the one to get. And when I need a new phone in the future I will get the G5S Plus. The screen is almost as good, but the battery life is twice as good as the Iphone7 or the GS7. Buy it!!

Great Smartphone at an awesome price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been spending up to $700 for Samsung and Apple smartphones. Never again! This phone does it all at less than half the price. This is the 4th phone I've purchased in the Moto G series--three G-4's, and now this G-5+. Love the new fingerprint reader, the fact that I can get 32 gigs of internal storage (plus another 64 gigs worth of music with a simple SD card which none of the I-phone accept, the super-fast Snapdragon processor, improved camera that takes stunning photos and a phone that is big, but can be operated with one hand even with my relatively small hands. The only function that this phone doesn't have that some of the more expensive phones have is near field communication which I never used anyhow. My first cellphone ever was a Motorola StarTac--state-of-the-art for its' time. Same is true about this phone today. Hats off to Lenovo for rising to the top. Now if they'd only make their Yoga laptops as affordable...

Skip the G5sPlus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned every generation of the G series since the initial launch. They usually get better with each refresh however not in this case. The G5sPlus although good is not really step up. I skipped over this G5Plus still happy with my G4 until the G5s was available. I decided to skip back and get the G5Plus due to the size and the camera. And that's just not my opinion as there are many who have felt the same regarding the two phones. The dual lens camera system on the S is rather useless and adds nothing to the finished product of low light conditions. The G5Plus actually is some better in that regard. Also a thought on a overlooked feature of both models. The fact that the fingerprint button can be activated for swipe functions and thus rid the lower portion of the screen of these buttons is woundrful. Once activated it makes using the phone a dream and I can't imagine using it otherwise. I was set to order an iPhone 8, Pixel 2 or Oneplus 5T. I found an incredible deal on this on Cyber Monday and gave it a chance and looks like the other options are not needed.

Great so far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did some research on this phone via the internet before I got it. Looked to be a descent phone for my needs. I had the Samsung S5 phone (shattered the screen which broke the microphone) and this phone is very comparable. The camera is as good or slightly worse than the S5's phone. I wish it was better, but I wasn't going to drop $500 plus on a phone just for a better camera, wife has a DSLR for that. I primarily use my phone for calls, texting, and internet browsing. Not a huge game player, and don't stream videos all day either. This phone has fit every need of mine listed above. Great call quality, texting is fast, have no complaints there. I got the 32gb/2gb ram phone, and sometimes when using it hard it will lag, but nothing to complain about, I consider it normal. The camera protrudes quite a bit, but once the case I ordered gets in, it wont be a concern. I like the moto navigation (swipe on the "home" button for back or recent apps). Takes a little getting used to, but getting more screen is worth it. The default photo app is Google Photos. This is a terrible app. Tries to get all of your photos online, and I hate that. I dont use that feature, but you cant disable it. Terribly annoying but what do you do, google controls your life when you get an android... My experience with Best Buy was similar to "KBarbour85" review. I walked into BB, and they of course tried selling me the S7. I told them that I would like one, but I dont need a $700 dollar phone for my needs. They accepted that with no further questions. They also said that none of these phones were in stock. I told them that it said it was in stock online, and they checked, and there it was! Overall a good experience. Finally, it is so nice getting an unlocked phone. No contracts, no worries. Just plug the sim card in and go!!! Four star rating is for Google photos being junk, camera could be better and the 3.5mm jack being on the bottom.

Pushes the bar on what a "budget" smartphone is!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this phone a few days after its release with the mind set that it was going to be just a "basic" smartphone. Little did I know that this phone was going to quickly surpass my expectations! Great High Definition Display with vibrant colors, Quick responses to the touch when navigating and opening apps, not to mention setting it up was a snap! First phone I ever owned with a fingerprint scanner and I have to admit, I cannot go back! I think what really caught my attention was its price tag. Very inexpensive when compared to some of the other brands offering similar phone dimensions with comparable specs at almost double the cost. What we have here is a phone really setting the bar for early 2017 as what should be considered a "budget" smartphones. I can proudly say that I am happy with my purchase and have yet to explore what this bad boy is capable of! If your looking for a budget friendly phone with good performance, look no further :) 5/5 stars :) P.S. Did I mention its also got a great camera?

Great alternative to Samsung/Apple, cheaper too
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before purchasing, did my due diligence by looking at online specs, reviews and comparisons with Samsung S7/S8 and the iPhone 7/8. Went to Best Buy to touch and feel this smart phone with others and finally decided to purchase. For the price, this is on a par or better than the iPhone and the Samsung. Easy to use, intuitive, great battery life and superb WiFi; not to mention it was several hundred dollars cheaper. You can't go wrong if you decide to buy this unit.

Limited Manufacturer Support for long life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.7 years after purchase, I can say this has been a fine telephone. It makes calls anywhere I need to and maintains good call quality. The big problem I have is that Motorola won't give you a path to update the operating system after the first upgrade. I don't even care about newer features the OS's support, but one by one Applications from banks, grocery stores and even Roomba have informed me they are cutting me off without access to a more current OS. At least Chrome still works.

Average at best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed something quick and in a lower price bracket ... I'm a big fan of Motorola and their near-stock android interface. This phone will do the job, but keep in mind it is a mid-ranger. Pros: Performance is pretty good, with great battery life and a vibrant 1920x1080 display. Android is pretty much stock and it runs nougat 7.0. Cons: Bit too big for a 5.2" phone, I found the fingerprint sensor to be a bit finicky and the camera is very poor. This may be the same sensor found in the Galaxy s7, but believe me there are no other tweaks ... I take a lot of pics, so for me this is a deal breaker, but was worth a shot. It's quick to focus but pics in daylight get mixed results of varying noise and artifacts while low-light shots are abysmal, simply put. I half expected it so I'm not overly disappointed. For the money, it's a great phone, but the cons here outweigh the pros for me personally. I would recommend to anyone not willing to pay flagship prices, but just remember sometimes you do get what you pay for.
