Amazing budget phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned and used daily,my Moto g 5plus for 18 months, bought unlocked from best buys. It has performed perfectly! I have dropped it a few times, without a case, and didn't break. I looked at the Moto g 6 many times and being a Moto g fan, thought I would upgrade. But I find myself preferring the metal look and performance, over the G6. Have looked at other budget phones to get a 6 inch screen but they don't match the vibrance of the G5 plus. Just saying...

Best phone I've ever had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a phone to go overseas and was in a panic. I came into Best Buy and chose this phone mostly because it was unlocked and moderately price. Frankly, I figured it would be mediocre at best, but it has really exceeded my expectations. Whereas my old phone had poor volume and was hard for callers to hear me on the other end, this thing is actually strong in both areas. It's got loads of features and is of better quality than phones costing over $400.

Great Phone Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are two MOTOs in our household now. Previously used I-Phones. Very pleased with phone, internet, texting, email, and ease of use. Video, sound, and speed also excellent. It would be good if MOTOs would stream video, but as far as I can tell, they don't. However, this issue isn't worth the much higher cost involved with Apple and Samsung. At least not to us. Also now prefer unlocked phones.

Wish that phone showed missed calls and texts.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like most everything about this phone except that I do not see any missed calls or texts. Unless I specifically look.

Great phone but call quality is very bad.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great phone but the call quality is very bad. I barely can't hear the other person in the other end of the call. Unless I turn the volume level up. It's been over 7 weeks, I got only one update from Moto; thats fixed the 911 bug but not the call quality. C'mon Moto fix it! You got one of the best phone in the market!

Amazing budget phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 3rd generation of Moto G variants. Feels like a higher level phone. Unlocked using Cricket, AT&T network. Solid phone, solid performance but cheap enough to not fret if it breaks, which none has, and allowing me to upgrade to the new better variants if I so choose.

2 Gb RAM is a joke on Moto 5s Plus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like the phone, consider getting the 4 Gb version. In 2 days after purchase of the 2 Gb version on Cyber Monday, the 5s hit 85 percent RAM usage. That was after adding just a couple basic apps like news, weather, and McAfee. The 5s has slowed and even frozen. My nightmare is now having to Force Stop apps and use McAfee ram memory erase multiple times each day. Same problem I had with my old Motorola Razr M with 1 Gb RAM. Watch out for Best Buy customer reviews. I read numerous before I bought. One review even said the 2 Gb was plenty and save the $70 extra for the 4 Gb. NOT FOR ME!!!! Good luck if you chance the Moto 5s Plus.

Posted .Hi Moto5PlusHater,
I know how frustrating it is that it has been consumed with a few apps installed. The phone has built-in apps which also consume much of your RAM usage, not just those apps you installed. We suggest users to power cycle their device at least once within 48 hours to refresh memory and prevent from lags or freezing.

Bad speaker, no roaming voice.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First call had crackling noise. No voice, but data on roaming using sprint. Returned phone. There was a on going issue with the bad sound on calls. Many threads locked on lennevo forums of complaints.

Network problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the phone just fine. Picture quality isn't wonderful in low light but decent outdoors. No built-in camera filters, which is a bummer but not a deal-breaker. My biggest issue is that I get little to no signal in my house. I've never had a problem with any other phone. My old phone gets a signal just fine. I've seen a lot of complaints about this online... I'm considering returning it... What's the point of a phone when you can't make calls? On the plus side, it has good battery life so far... One week in.

Was awesome until
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4 months in when no one could hear me anymore. That was in May, I have to turn the phone in to Motorola for repair under the warranty. It's my only communication device, hence here it is Sept and I still haven't. I have to turn on speaker for every call, and even then I have to talk really loud. Diagnosis was from Moto employee on the user forum. Many others have chimed in since I posted, so it's now a known problem. I purchased unlocked from Best Buy in Jan 18.

Getting service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone works great. My complaint is that it says it is compatible with boost mobile when it is not. I had to go to sprint to get service on the phone.

Terrible App Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone has great battery life and the fingerprint scanner is great. The problem is App Performance. Most of the issues are with Google. An example is when you search the web often times your results won't load after you click on them. I would recommend to not spend the money on this phone, unless you hate money that much.

Posted .Hi BenShepherd,
We agree it has a great battery life and features like the fingerprint scanner. Regarding your app issue, is this happening all the time? Did you check if your Google Apps are updated? Is it also loading when using other WiFi or on data only? Are you power cycling your device periodically?
It is a good practice to restart the device periodically (at least every 48 hours) to clear out buffers and memory that may lead to intermittent issues. You may also update your apps if there are available via Playstore. You can also do a Safe mode: http://bit.ly/2mrS0fu to check if this issue is caused by a third-party app.

Bad Phone Call Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the design of this phone, it is a perfect size, very comfortable to use and very light. The camera is very good. The phone is fast for searching the web and apps work pretty good. The phone call quality is terrible. People can hear me ok, but I have a hard time hearing anyone in half of the cases, i.e. receiving voices sound distorted like it is going in and out. Sometime while on the same call the sound comes and goes. It does not do it all the time. I have exchanged this phone 3 times now and still have the same issue. Sound quality is even worse when I use Bluetooth in my car, I can barely hear/understand anyone while I use the Bluetooth. I really wanted this phone to work as I really like the design, but I will be returning it for a different model

Slow and unstable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite the seemingly impressive stats for its price, it still manages to be impossibly slow, and apps crash all the time. The phone restarts for no reason at least once every few weeks. The camera almost never works on the first try – regardless of the app, it'll usually just show a black screen on the first few attempts. The fingerprint reader can't handle fingerprints. Smudges build up so quickly that I have to wipe the reader off thoroughly several times a day to get it to work. Even the slightest bit of moisture makes it completely unusable. The camera quality is decent at best, and it struggles to focus most of the time.

Good phone, bad screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Phone is super, no complaints. There do however, appear to be multiple horizontal lines on the screen which you can see while browsing the phone under direct sunlight or a strong light source. These lines are also very prominent when the display brightness is set at the maximum value. This is very annoying. It ruins the HD screen experience. I will be returning this phone as I believe it probably has a defective screen since no one else has complained about this.

Posted .Hi, thanks for your feedback. Those lines are normal on IPS touchscreens, we're sure your screen is not defective. -Erwin
