Problem with this one

However, I have an issue when I end a call with someone. The screen goes black during the call and when I try to end the call or after I leave a message, it doesn't take me back to the call screen for me to use the keypad. In fact, I press the side button several times and tap the black screen and absolutely nothing happens. After a couple of minutes it comes back on and its the assistant asking me what I want to do.
