Just needed something for a particular purpose and this fit the job. The rep told us about google fi which i had no idea about but the rates and the fact that it can be used internationally without the hassle and extra costs per minute for calls/texts etc at little to nothing was a win.

Performs some functions well, but some problems

Overall it performs well and has 64 Gb memory. This is a lot better than my previous phone, which was a Moto Play, and only had 15 Gb memory, which is the only reason that I bought a new phone, that is, I needed more memory than a SD card could provide. However, photos in my texts of my old phone failed to transfer to my new phone. And texts from friends with iPhones are undeliverable to my phone, although they can respond to texts that I send them I had none of these problems on my old phone, so this is a big disappointment. It might be that I didn't set up the phone correctly, even though Best buy helped me with setup, but neither Motorola or Verizon has been able to give me a workable solution to these problems. In the meantime I rely on WhatsApp, as IPhone users can send me texts and photos that way.

In fact I'd say it's a great Android phone for under $200. The screen is large enough even for an old codger like me, and as far as I can tell, it's capable of doing everything any other Android or smart phone can do. I can't say anything one way or the other about the camera. For my purposes, it takes good photos. The only negative I can think of to say is that the internal speaker volume doesn't deliver enough for an old codger like me.

For a relatively inexpensive phone, it does all I need it to do and MOST of what I want it to do. It takes EXCELLENT pictures and it is pretty fast (fast enough for me, anyway). The feel and build doesn't feel like the "budget phone" it's billed to be. This is my 2nd Motorola phone in 4-5 years and I like this one even more than the one I had before. If you're in the market for a new phone and you're on a tight budget, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST taking a look at this one!

I check emails, messages, facebook and use the internet. I take pictures mainly for work. I don't play games or watch movies. As I use it it's ok for the price. This phone replaces a earlier version of the same phone but I think the earlier version was easier to work with as to the phone and app settings.

Mind you I’m in my 70’s so this is a bit of a challenge. My old Samsung was quite different in saving numbers in different folders, so that s the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. But thus far it super fast and takes great photos.
