Perfect upgrade from Moto G Power 2021

As a long-time user of the Moto G Power series, moving from my trusty Moto G Power (2021) to the new 2024 model has been a genuinely satisfying experience. Motorola has successfully refined the formula that made this lineup so popular, delivering a phone that feels familiar yet significantly more capable. This device isn't just an upgrade; it’s a seamless transition that retains the best of the past while pushing forward on key performance metrics. Retaining the Power Legacy The main reason I stick with the Moto G Power line is its legendary battery life, and the 2024 version delivers exactly what I loved about the 2022 version (and my older 2021 model). The massive battery easily gets me through two full days of typical use—a feature that remains unmatched in this price bracket. Beyond the battery, the clean, near-stock Android experience is back, free of bloatware, keeping performance snappy and intuitive. If you loved the core experience of the previous 'Power' generations, you’ll feel right at home here. The Critical Upgrades: Camera and Storage This is where the 2024 model truly shines and justifies the switch from the 2021 model. The improvements to the camera system are immediately noticeable. Camera: A Leap in Quality The jump in camera quality is substantial. Photos are clearer, detail retention is far better, and the low-light performance, which was a weak point in my 2021 model, is dramatically improved. It’s a reliable point-and-shoot camera now, delivering vibrant and accurate colors that I’m actually happy to share directly without heavy editing. Storage: Room to Breathe One of the biggest frustrations with older models was managing limited storage. The 2024 version finally offers the storage capacity needed for modern usage—more space for my growing photo library (thanks to that improved camera!), apps, and media without constantly worrying about cleanup. This increased storage capacity alone makes the daily user experience so much smoother and less stressful. Verdict: The Best Value Power Phone Yet The Motorola Moto G Power (2024) is precisely what I look for in a mid-range phone: reliability, longevity, and intelligent upgrades. It keeps the rock-solid foundation of massive battery life and clean software that users love, while finally addressing the storage and camera limitations of the past. For anyone looking to upgrade from a 2021 or 2022 model, this phone is a no-brainer. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and confidently recommend it.

This is the best budget phone with Android 14 IMHO. I had the 2023 version and although this years Mediatek Dimensity 7020 is pretty much the same as last years Dimensity 930, the extra RAM (8 GB total) makes this device run smoother and faster. The screen is fantastic and bright. I love the battery life and the side fingerprint sensor is always my fave and this year Face Unlock works a lot faster. Thanks to Motorola for listening and adding NFC for easy Google wallet/Pay this time. The Pale Lilac color is incredibly good looking and the vegan leather is so easy to hold and comfy to grip. I am also happy with the OIS camera, beyond solid. Glad I returned the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G for this. The Exynos chip was a little slower and laggy while using my Amazon Flex Delivery App. This may be a mid-range phone but people think I paid $500-$600 for it!! My wife is selling her Pixel 7 so she can buy this one as well. That speaks volumes!

Excellent quality comparative to the price. Great battery life, decent processor and memory (better than most other mid-range phones), and other software features that make this an excellent buy at the price point. My last Moto G Power lasted me 5 years as a general laborer and construction worker who used his phone as a TV/computer/gaming system... and I expect this one could do the same, so that should speak to the quality of the hardware and build. I have continuously been impressed with the quality of Motorola products over the years, and this phone series is no exception.

Way better then the Moto g7+ it replaced. Much bigger battery and RAM, so of course it works way faster and multitasks just fine. I get 5G almost everywhere. I only had it a few days before it upgraded from Android 14 to Android 15, So far it has done everything that I have wanted to. I I have not tested the wireless charging with it yet. I wish I has bought this phone sooner.

Bought this reasonably priced phone to replace an older Motorola phone that was no longer receiving operating system updates, had insufficient memory and storage space, and was beginning to have some issues. This kept the Moto Actions we were used to, the camera seems great with new features to learn, and overall it seems snappy and responsive. It took the SD card as well, which we were using as the main storage would otherwise fill up, so that all transferred over easily. No problems. Battery capacity is great - it can go a second day without charging with our normal use. The only issue was figuring out that the "power down" function was set instead to "assistant" but we switched that back to the way it was before. So yes, this is a great value and we hope to get quite a bit of life out of it.

The battery is really impressive, I charge it for 1.5 hrs and once charged fully, it runs for 24 hrs of regular use.

Truly a good android phone by Motorola. Large built in memory. I added a extra SSD for extra room for my photos. It's unlocked, but I have a Verizon SIM card. The power g has a built-in eSim needing you only have to register it with your carrier. Great option. 5g service automatically on if in your area. You don't need to contact your provider. The finger reader works great. Sound quality is very nice. Clear screen and refresh. Sharp and clear. Responsive touch screen. Fast processing. Awesome camera. Wireless charging and a long lasting battery.

Finally, Moto have caught up with other mid-range devices. The camera is more than adequate, I would judge it just below a Pixel 8a, battery life is good. Performance is okay, not as smooth as the Pixel 9a, or the upper mid-range Samsung offerings, but if on sale, it is a great deal.

    Moto G Power 5G (2024)

This phone absolutely delivers on battery life. With the 5,000 mAh cell, I routinely only use 50–60% of the battery in a full day of moderate to heavy use even with 120 Hz enabled. The 6.7" 1080p LCD screen runs at 120 Hz and feels fluid, but it has major limitations outdoors. In direct sunlight, visibility really drops off. If you're expecting standout photos, set your expectations low. In good lighting, it’s acceptable for casual snaps, but low-light and zoomed shots are disappointing. As someone who values long battery life, clean performance, and basic modern features like wireless charging and NFC, I find the Moto G Power 2024 to be a solid pick under $300. However, if you heavily rely on your camera, need crisp outdoor visibility, or expect top-tier software support and future updates, this phone may fall short. It’s a great performer for its price.

This cellphone has only one SIM card slot and one eSIM. SIM Card - Dual SIM (1 physical Nano SIM + eSIM + 1 microSD) I was able with help of AT&T add the eSIM. The other Mobile service I use is Tello mobile (that uses T-Mobil network). Tello stated online that eSIM would not work with this phone. I was able to use the Nano SIM for that service. So, I did manage to get my phone to run both services at the same time. The sound is better than that of my old phone Nokia G20 louder and clearer. The video is of higher resolution at: Resolution - Full HD+ (2400 x 1080) This phone also has 5000mAh Battery great for long usage and talk time.
