It is not bogged down by a lot of apps that are not needed nor wanted. I love the stylus. It is convenient and takes the place of my note book. I, personally, like to write my notes, not type. I can't report on the battery use as yet, because I just got it and have not been using it that much. Time will tell.

Go to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates.
