Customers are saying

Customers admire the Moto G Stylus for its remarkable camera quality, affordable price, and the convenience of the stylus feature. The long battery life and ample storage space are also highly appreciated. While some users have concerns about its durability, the lack of wireless charging, NFC, and a slight learning curve, these drawbacks seem to be outweighed by the phone's overall strengths.

I really like this phone. The battery capacity is awesome. Pictures are very good and the speed is excellent. The price is a steal. I do recommend a case for the unit to protect the glass back. Nice screen detail.

Better than Apple iPhone for MUCH less!

After becoming fed up dealing with Apple iPhones battery issues, in 2019, I purchased a Motorola Moto G7 Power (at Best Buy) and was very pleased with it. In 2020, my wife could not use her Apple iPhone as a mobile hotspot while working remotely because it would overheat and the battery life was way too short. So, when Motorola put the 8th Generation Moto cellphones on sale in November 2020, I purchased this Moto G (G8) Stylus and am very pleased with it. My wife took the G7 Power, which worked out very well for her needs. IMHO, these are the best cellphones available for a reasonable price. The battery lasts 2 - 3 days on both of them before needing to be recharged. The only suggested improvement might be cordless, inductive charging capability.

My husband loves this phone. It is super fast compared to any phone he has had in the past. The camera quality is awesome as well. He is very happy with his choice, kinda likes doodling with the stylus.

So far this has been a great phone with a couple of quirks. I am sure these are setting issues, but they are frustrating to deal with. It takes great pictures and video, sound and call quality are excellent, battery life is amazing and the app interface is very easy to use. Coming from a Samsung Galaxy, there are a few things I will miss about that platform, but not enough to justify the price difference of $800 for the new S20.

Absolutely love this phone. The battery lasts for days, the storage is huge, the stylus is my favorite feature. I waited months to purchase. Bought it unlocked. Had no problem activating on Verizon.

The Moto 7 Stylus all around is a pretty good phone, for the price ($149.00 at Best Buy). Having the 128gb internal storage and the 48MP rear camera make it a real good deal. But, the main thing that I was looking for was to be able to project to my big screen TV (Samsung). Screen cast isn't compatible with Samsung's (Screen Mirroring). Nowhere on Motorola's product description and specification pages did it mention what they used for connecting to TV's. Other than that, I am pretty happy about the performance of this phone. The speakers are great sounding with Dolby. The camera takes great pictures and plenty of storage space. One disappointment I almost forgot to mention is battery life. It won't last two whole days without charging.

Coming out of a Moto G5 +. The auto back light on the display on this phone is unobtrusive (major issue on the G5.) I wanted the stylus to relive my Palm days. I guess I have moved on as the stylus feature isn't any better than a finger. What is cool about the stylus is that you can take a quick note without unlocking the phone or launching an app. The big reason to buy this phone is the 128Gb memory. Stylus or not, the price is good for 128 Gb.

This phone is huge, it is actually uncomfortable to hold. The bigger problem is how this model of Android handles previews and lock screen notifications. I have had iPhones and a MotoX phone that I loved - they are different from each other but both excellent. This one they blew the interaction and display design. I have never used the stylus so no comment there. The camera is excellent and it holds it charge forever - so those are the pluses. So I wouldn't recommend it but it could be perfect for other people, the quality is excellent.

I'm still using my Motorola Stylus, I think phones are a love/hate type of product, this one works well, but there are some idiosyncrasies that drive me nuts...but I can't think of a phone I've had that hasn't had this-- so -- I would have to say for what by today's standards would be considered a moderately price, well-functioning phone and one of the few phones remaining that has a stylus. I rated it a "4" because it doesn't knock my socks off, but I don't hate it either!

I've had this phone for almost 2 years. I Love this phone. I've read a lot of reviews before purchasing it. Some was good and a lot was bad. I'm thankful for my experience with it. This phone takes great pics. I'm not tech savvy. Do I didn't look for all the bells and whistles when making purchase. It was a upgrade from a Samsung 7. I went from a 32 gb memory to a 128gb of memory. Oh yes I was in heaven. I've just upgraded to the same phone. The 2022 version with 256 gb.

I'd give it 5 stars because for the price you get a great phone. No its not the latest IPhone or Galaxy but then you only pay $299. Lots of nice features, and if you like a built in Stylus its a deal. I own a Note 10, I have owned Note 8, Note 4, Note 3. because I use a Stylus. Decent camera, You can add a card for lots of storage. Decent display. You can set it up the way you like. Anyway for those with limited recourse's this might fit the bill. some cons; I like the rounded edges on the Note, this screen is flat. very limited aftermarket case's and screen protectors, but are a few. I understand Motorola only gives updates for 2 years.

Bought for my teenage daughter. Very nice working phone. Camera appears to be really nice, plenty of storage space. Only issue is my daughter is not used to not having a skin on the OS. But she will get used to it. Now what I really wanted to state here is for Boost Mobile customers. This phone DOES work with Boost Mobile. BUT, don't let a Boost Mobile store enable this. Also, for some reason Boost Mobiles online setup does not work for this phone. Go to a Sprint Store and have them set this up for you for free or at low cost. The SIM card is: SIMOLW516TQ. A prior reviewer stated 416TQ, that card is no longer available. 516TQ does work when setup properly. Boost Mobile's site for some reason keeps associating our new SIM cards with the old phones when transferring our old phone to this and locks it. Boost Mobile stores want to charge far too much to set these up themselves. Boost Mobile stores want $25 just for the SIM card when Sprint Stores are giving them to you for free. Save your money and just go to a Sprint store.

Camera is pretty dang good. As long as you have good lighting it will do a really good job. Works well holds battery for 48 hours no problem. The charging is slow even when it says it's turbo charging don't know if it's this device or just how it is. The camera glass broke and have no clue how since it's never been dropped or anything looked at the back one day and the glass cracked that covers one of the 3 cameras. Overall good phone if you can get it on a sale.

Another surprisingly good phone with very good camera system for its value pricing. And the stylus is a plus, especially once you learn how to enable the Handwriting language for script to text on the fly conversion in lots of apps. Haven't had this much fun since my days as a Palm user. Snappy performance and lots of memory. Only downsides are the weight and thickness. Still a fine, usable tool at $250 - $300 depending on sales, open box, etc.

I bought this phone at launch. Here are my takeaways: Pros: 1. Battery life is excellent even on the smaller battery stylus phone. I use my phone extensively, and it lasts me more than 2 days on a full charge. 2. Looks and feels great! Even though it is a plastic body, it doesn't feel cheap of flimsy. 3. It's plenty quick for day to day use. I don't play games on my phone so i can't speak for gaming performance, but day to day use is smooth and uninterrupted. 4. Stock Android out the box. Cons: 1. No NFC. I use NFC so it is a bummer not having it, but it's certainly not a deal breaker. 2. Stylus is a passive pen..tends to lag. But it does the job well. Pretty much all i can think of. For the price, it think it offers more than it's worth.

This is my 3rd Motorola phone that I have owned. This by far has the best battery life, largest screen, and WOW, the camera. I did not buy it for the stylus...haven't really used it yet. It connects easily to both of my Fossil watches, my car Bluetooth, and my many wireless headsets. For the price, it is a great phone.
