Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted to wait as couple of weeks before leaving a review. Bought it on the BB website "out of box" to save a few bucks and have no regrets at all. I know many people mention poor camera quality and maybe I'm just lucky but the camera on my phone is great! No problems at all. I mostly text, surf the web, watch vids and take casual pics and for those purposes it's great. No complaints about battery. Lasts a full day with pretty heavy use. Takes about 90 mins to charge from drained to full. I'm really happy. First Android, coming off a 10 year run of all Blackberries. For the price, to me, this feels like a terrific little phone. Love the having to enter a password AND a fingerprint to open the phone. Fantastic option. Encrypted, lots of settings to better control your privacy...all good stuff. Two weeks of constant use and no complaints. Have dropped it a few feet a couple of times with no problems. Happy camper!

Moto g5s Plus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this unlocked cell phone a few weeks ago but didn't have time to even open the box until last week. So far seems like an excellent phone. Great quality and features but still learning the camera use and more. I did a lot of reseach on unlocked phones and this one had great reviews and I wanted 64gb, so price was right and features were good. Had a BLU unlocked phone but too much bloatware and wasn't able to upgrade apps. Motorola has a name recognition and friends who own the Moto phones love them so I'm hoping I will too. I added a 64gb sd card so hoping this last for a long time.

Great phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really happy with the Moto G5S Plus. No bloatware, good battery, good performance, good price. The speed and quality of the cameras is fine for me. I put a Spigen case on it and that seems to help gripping it. I never put lock codes on my phones before, but the fingerprint reader makes it so easy to unlock, I set that up. I do have 2 cons that are annoying but not deal breakers. My HTC had stereo front facing speakers which I liked when watching videos. The single speaker on the Moto is on the bottom. It's better then being on the back side where the sound is directed away from you, but I find myself cupping my hand while holding the phone to help redirect the sound towards me. I have a phone clamp that attaches to the air vents in my car. The power button on the Moto is right at the spot where the clamp would grab the phone. It would be better if the power button was on the top of the phone instead of being right next to the volume control.

The best Android Phone I have ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had quite a few android phones over the past 10-12 years and this is by far the best I have had. It's camera might not be quite up to par with the rest of the phone but it is more than acceptable. It's fast, The screen quality is really great, it feels good in my hand and I like the 5.5" screen. I've had other phones with the same size battery (3000 mah) that I had to charge at least twice every day. This one lasts me the entire day. It runs out at just about the time I am ready for bed, so that's a good thing. I bought the 64 GB model and couldn't be happier. It's more than I'll ever need but it's reassuring to know that there is a SD slot for expansion if I ever need it. For a mid-range priced phone, I don't think I could find a better phone.

Good enough to buy two
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked mine so I got another for my wife. I might buy a third as a backup. This is a good phone at a very good price. I saw bad reviews for the camera but I think the camera is fine.

Moto G5S Plus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the phone and was able to use the phone for 1 week before the phone quit. The day the phone quit I was working and on the road. The car I was driving blew a tire on the highway and was on the side of the road with a phone that couldn't call out. My phone decided it was done and kept shutting off and on, emergency calls only and giving the dead Android. I've always been an iPhone person but when the prices went up I looked for a better alternative. My wife, son and I all have this phone. They both love there's mine is like target practice. I sent it back to Motorola which they wanted to send me a "like new" one back. Not acceptable when you purchased a brand new one that I literally had for one full week. They finally agreed to send a new one so I will see how round two goes and give updates when I receive it. As of now with my experience of the first phone, I would highly NOT recommend.

Poor customer support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was happy at first with my G5S Plus, but then I would noticed a lot of places where I would have no coverage at all, it was like flipping a switch off, it would just have no service. Also I noticed a bright spot on the front of the screen, not real bad but it was there. So I thought I would contact support, they (Arvin) said it was my carrier problem, (even though people I work with have IPhone & Samsung and service with the same carrier) on the bright spot on the screen, he ask if I dropped the phone, I said no, and the if the phone was in a tight space, I said no. and then if I had a case on it. I said yes Arvin: I see, your case might be too tight that is why it is showing a bright spot. Runey3: okay so nothing will be Motorola's fault. lol bad customer support .......... The sad thing is I was planning on switching over 10 users to this product....not any more.

Great phone - best value for your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a reasonably good phone under $300.00 The camera could have been better but works well under good light. I am quite satisfied with the overall quality. Best Buy customer care is also quite helpful if you need to replace the phone if there is any problem.

Please don't buy this phone.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an IT Professional and have worked at the state government level on all kinds of servers for over 10 years. I am extremely familiar with technology; all of my friends/family/coworkers trust my opinion and ask me what they should buy. This is my first ever product review. Please don't buy this phone. I bought this phone as a gift for my wife in August 2018 for $265. By December, the front-facing camera stopped working. Annoyed, I worked with Motorola support to have a replacement phone sent. It was very painless and I was impressed...However, we received the phone and within two days we realized that this phone was even worse than the first one: the microphone didn't work most of the time, the CPU would be overwhelmed so it would play videos in slow-motion when they weren't supposed to be, the brightness wouldn't turn up sometimes, and it would randomly lose connection to the cell towers, etc. Very frustrated, I went through the same process with support asking that we be given a new phone rather than a refurbished one. We received another refurbished phone a couple days ago and now that phone won't even turn on. I just spent 1.5 hours on chat with support trying to find a reasonable solution. Their only solution was to send in this phone and repeat the process. This is the problem, though: Since I can't turn the phone on, I am unable to erase all of my personal information on it. Also, if I logged on to Google's Find My Phone and told Google to remotely erase it, it would have to be connected to a cell tower or wi-fi to receive that command, which would mean that my Google accounts could be accessed before receiving the 'erase' command. So my choices are either 1) Return my phone to Motorola and hope that my accounts aren't accessible 2) Pay the "Advanced Exchange" fee of $175 + taxes to be able to keep my broken phone and get a replacement (which probably wouldn't work, either, based on my luck with the other replacements) or 3) Eat the $265 that I originally paid and never buy a Motorola or Lenovo (Motorola's parent company) product again and tell everyone that I can not to either. I know that the probability of my accounts being accessed on this phone is very close to zero considering that the phone is supposedly encrypted but Lenovo has a history of selling products with malware from the factory so who knows if they have a backdoor way of bypassing the encryption and the simple finger pattern that we used. If you were my family member, I would urge/beg/grovel that you not buy this phone nor any other Motorola/Lenovo product. If you are looking at this phone, you were probably thinking what I was: That this phone offers a lot of features for the price and it is a good value without spending $500 on a phone. Please save your money. Either buy a cheaper phone from a different brand with fewer features, or save your money and buy one of the flagship phones. If you buy this phone, you risk buying a brick like I did and wasting $265. Please, please save your hard-earned money and don't buy this phone.

Not for POGO on Sprint
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Currently there is a glitch that is keeping this phone from connecting to PokemonGO on the Sprint network. I read it also affects the E4 Plus. It is a good phone otherwise, but will not connect to PokemonGO or services with similar authentication types while on sprint 4g

Good when it works, unfortunately, not often
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have made the mistake of purchasing two of these phones in the last 45 days, one for my wife and another for myself. Both of them failed within 3-6 weeks of purchase and had to be returned to Motorola for replacement. My wife's replacement phone seemed to work, so I decided it was a fluke and bought one for myself a few weeks ago. While we were at Glacier National Park my phone started randomly rebooting and finally would not start at all. I notified Motorola support on 9/16. Several hours on the phone later and I still don't have a replacement phone. Today is 9/27/2018. BUYER BEWARE! The 14 day Best Buy return policy is worthless with this phone!

WiFi calling is not there
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Verizon service. When I don't have service the phone prompts me to activate WiFi calling. Verizon says it is there, call Motorola. Motorola says call Verizon. Why does the phone prompt me to do something and not do it?

Not great at all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't even had this phone for a year, it likes to shut off randomly and reboot. Then trying to turn it back on takes another 10 minutes. This is after I clean my phone and restart it through out the week, including shutting it down to try and prevent this from happening. I can't Stand it anymore, its definitely lagging a lot, I would rather go back to my iPhone then use this again.

Worked great...for a week.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone because my old G5 Plus was a great phone for the money. Figured the upgraded version would be more of the same or better. Wrong. This phone went into a boot loop cycle for a couple days then bricked to a point of not being able to even get to the recovery mode within a week. There is no definite fix that I can find online except for hardware replacement, and I have no idea where to take it. I lost the original box so I basically threw away $300 and am still using my beat up old G5 Plus. The glass is very inferior as well, the screen scratches very easily compared to the G5 Plus.

Moto G5 Plus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Caviat Emptor... Let the buyer beware!!! I purchased a NEW Moto G5 Plus (not the s version) and upon receiving/opening the box found only the phone. No Charger, no pin removal tool...Looks like it was an open box item BB slipped in on me...(and charged the extra $120 for new).... The icing on the cake was when I watched a Youtube video to see how to insert sim card noticed my phone didn't look like the one in the video... turned my "New" G5 Plus on and found out it's actually a E4 Plus... taking it back to a local store today to raise a stink!! Come on BB you're better than this!

Inconsistent GPS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this phone since Feb 2018 and it was not my best choice ever. My major gripe with it is the GPS. It fails often to connect to a satellite even out in an open field with nothing between it and them but sky. This is a major disappointment since i need the gps for frequent road trips and to log walks/runs. My old samsung s3 works better than this thing as far as gps goes.
