    I like this phone.

    It is fairly affordable, at around $200, compared to others of comparable spec. The only serious competitor for this are phones by Huawei, but, after my last phone that died prematurely, I was fairly determined not to get another Huawei product for a while at least, and so far, I am not disappointed with thi.

    No sound

    I purchased this phone three weeks ago. It worked great until yesterday. I was driving home from work talking to my daughter and the sound just went out. The call was still active. My daughter could still hear me but I couldn't hear her. I hung up and tried calling her back and there was no sound on my end although the phone call was going through. My daughter answered the call and she could hear me but I couldn't hear her. When she called my phone there was no sound but I could see her calling. And yet when I answered the phone I couldn't hear her. I went online to play a video, and still there was no sound. I took the phone back to Best Buy today, the gentleman did something to get it to work again. But soon as I left the store same thing happened again. Now I have to return the phone and try a different one in hopes that it works out. Just frustrating! Spend $209 on a phone for it to have issues just after three weeks. Not good!

    Speaker is VERY quiet

    Build quality of phone looks nice. It's got a nice screen and I like Android 8.0 Oreo but the phone has a very quiet speaker. Calls can be hard to hear outdoors and if you plug it into your car, via the headphone jack, the sound is... not good. I have to turn phone volume all the way up and then car volume darn near all the way up just to hear it and it's got a lot of background buzz. When you make calls, every ring starts loud and then gets muffled. You can't turn it up enough to hear well. I really wanted to like this phone. Especially coming from an old Windows phone but the sound quality is all-around just too poor to recommend.

    It is OK. The moto g6 play is sort of slow. The thing that really bothers me about it is that if you are not signed into google some of the stuff doesn't work. I entered all my contacts then signed out of google and they were gone. I entered ALL of them while signed out of google and they disapeared after I checked my google mail. The settings on the group text need to be altered before they work which is not simple to do. If you don't text pictures in a certain way they are sent through a google cloud. It's not that I have anything interesting or bad going on but it's still annoying to feel like the stupid phone is spying through google all the time. Would not reccomend. I have bought low end LG's in the past and they are just as good but are not google spies

    Not satisfied

    I had the phone 86 days and things started going wrong. My battery level measured 92% for two days and then it just died. I'm sure the battery was dead, but it did not register tell me that. Then it didn't want to charge. I can't trust how much of a charge it presently has. Additionally, when I added it my bluetooth in the car, it glitches and periodically garbles the caller when I am talking and I can't understand the person speaking to me. Sometimes the screen does not respond when I press an app. I had a Motorola before and was very satisfied. This Motorola 6 Play is not as good as the phone I had before. I am going back to the store to see if they will take it back.

    Too many issues!

    Where do I start? I have Verizon and the phone connection always has a lot of static. Many of my apps freeze up repeatedly while using. Fingerprint login doesn't work on any of my apps. Whenever a website asks for location access, it freezes. The worst part is the customer service. I reached out to customer service and they take a day or two to respond each time. They suggested running the phone in safe mode which only lets you use the pre-installed apps and the phone still froze while using chrome. They asked if I used a SD card and when I said I did they didn't respond with any suggestions of how that might have caused the problem. I factory reset the phone without the sd card and still have the same issues. If you're considering this phone suggestion would be to contact the support email below some of the other bad reviews to see for yourself.

    18:9 Screen Ratio Cuts off Sides of Apps

    The narrower screen ratio of 18:9 cuts off the sides of most apps designed for the regular 16:9 ratio. Unlike some other phones, the G6 doesn't give the option of forcing these apps into a 'full screen mode'. Some apps will automatically adjust, but you have no way of knowing until you've already opened them. Versions of Android can offer this, but it doesn't seem available on the G6 Play.

    No data w/o wifi

    When I first purchased the phone I had to factory rest twice. It worked fine for 3 months and then had the same problem, no data without WiFi. None of my apps work without WiFi. I factory rest it twice. Now I get sketchy to no data (3g maybe and then nothing). Not a problem with provider, it's the phone and now I can't return because it is past 14 days! No one but this phone!

    ATT restricts this phone's feature set

    I discovered, after buying the G6 play that ATT does NOT allow (ie blocks) wifi calling and HD voice on unlocked phones, including the G6 play. I should have gotten an ATT phone with all the bloatware.

    Automatic Restarting

    My phones restart itself anytime. I happened to observe that while playing google music play app, my phone restarts multiple time own its own.
