    Great product

Would totally recommend the Moto g6 to anyone who needs a no frills unlocked phone. Surprisingly fast and easy to navigate for even the most novice user. I must note that the fingerprint sensor is not at all similar to a home button found on Samsung devices. If a user wants a "Home Button" they will need to purchase a Samsung device instead. With that said if you prefer stock Android this phone is a perfectly simple middle of the road cellular device.

Great phone with a lot of features that works well with an awesome price! Previous had the Moto G5, so this is an upgrade. I was able use it overseas by changing out the SIM. No issues encountered with the different network or frequencies overseas. -Performance is responsive and good, sharp screen…. -This smartphone with all the latest and great feature is great for everyday use without breaking the bank!

This phone really is a Best Buy!

I bought this phone about 6 weeks ago. I dropped it on the pavement before I could get a protective case. The back shattered, but I carefully laid it on the counter and used packing tape across the entire back, making sure to cut around the camera etc. I bought a protective case and put the phone in it the same day. Works perfect and I love this phone so much, I am getting my daughter the same one.

Good but not what was promised

I picked up Open Box excellent, you have to trust them since they will charge you a $35 restock fee if you don't like what you get. Mine was missing the tool to access the SIM/Memory card. Only real complaints is the Finger print sensor doesn't work for me (but face unlock is fine). Second the BB chat agent said it supported NFC, it does NOT!! so Google Pay is not all that useful. I moved up from a Moto E (1st gen) since 3G is going away. The FM radio on the G6 is noticeably less sensitive that the E's. Had I known about the NFC being missing (which showed up only after installing Google Pay), I could have saved money and got a G6 Play. On a positive note, unlike the E's it is being security patched. Quality is very good and looks upscale. Only long term worry is the battery/phone got quite warm when I 1st charged it with the turbo charger.

The hot spot is locked to at&t

I bought the unlocked moto g6 from Best buy store in the Orlando. I was sad that I couldn't open my hotspot because I did not subscribe the at&t service. And the usb share and Bluetooth share was also no work. What can I do?

I'd have to say for a new phone I am extremely pleased. Not only does it have the look but it also has all the features that you would expect from a top phone. You don't even realize you paid for it, it's so cheap for the quality.

    Buggy and Fragile

Fast, great camera but full of bugs like not responding to headset buttons, the backlight completely refusing to work and flickering when viewing white pages. But the biggest mistake was the change to an all glass design. The phone broke the very first time I dropped it from 2 feet while taking it out of my pocket on the toilet. The back is shattered and thankfully the glass screen protector took the brunt of the face damage. I had just took it out of its case because it is a huge phone without it and the case made it monstrous. I have no choice now but to tape the back panel and put it in the case for life. I hate this phone...

Very delicate, don't waste your money.

I would like to start by saying that I have seen other reviews mentioning how delicate these phones are, but ignored them thinking that some clumsy person had mishandled the device and was just frustrated. However I found out the hard way how delicate these phones are myself. I need to state that I take good care of my things and in 23 years of purchasing and caring for cell phones I have never broke one. I didn't have this phone for even 48 hours (since my purchase at Best Buy), when I dropped it after taking out of my pocket to answer a call. It then fell onto a cushioned floor mat and after I inspected it there was no marks or scratches to the frame, but there was a crack in the screen that ran from the upper right corner to the left upper corner. I have never seen a product as delicate as this and hope to warn anyone thinking of saving a couple of hundred dollars buy purchasing a budget phone that with the Moto G6 you really do get what you pay for.

I really wanted to love this phone.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was so excited to get this phone, and after reading many good reviews, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, this phone has gone above and beyond at failing to meet my expectations, and then some. I switched over from Apple because I was unhappy with my previous phone. I had the iPhone 6S and it had started to experience many issues (short battery life, lags, etc.) I was ready to give Motorola a chance as it had been years since I've had one. Unfortunately, this phone - while being incredibly cheap - is not a good alternative for any phone that was made after 2012. This phone is so disappointing, I would not even consider it to be a smartphone. CONS 1. Obviously it does not support iMessage (that's fine and to be expected), but this phone will simply NOT RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES from certain numbers (mainly Apple numbers I have found, but it's been a general thing). While this could arguably be a network issue, I have never had this issue with any other phone (including flip phones back in the early 2000's) and I am in an area which should have fine coverage. This leads me to believe it must be an issue with this particular phone. 2. For those who claim the camera is good, you must never have seen an iPhone, Android, or any other HD camera. Not only does the camera itself lag (you'll press the capture button, and it wont actually take the picture until 5-10 seconds after you press it), but the quality is poor, even when in "high-definition". Photos look as if they have been taken in a high pressure volt; everything is abnormally sharp and crisp (in a bad way) and the contents in the photo look shallow. It doesn't look natural at all. 3. The phone itself LAGS. It's an old phone, and the new Android software must be too much for this phone to handle. Apps will freeze constantly, the phone will randomly restart, etc. AKA, if you are buying this phone IN 2019, don't expect it to run smoothly. In fact, it's continuing to get worse as new OS' continues to arrive. 4. If you are receiving photos from someone, or sending photos/videos, the quality will get pixelated/distorted during the sending process. Not only can you not receive a picture/video from another phone, you can't send them either, without the photo turning into a pixelated mess. Again, could be a network issue; but it has never been a problem for me in any other phone I have had. 5. If you want to type (messages, emails, etc.) without a lag, you will need to download an app called "SwiftKey". The standard keyboard (Google) that is automatically on the phone lags during typing (you'll be in the middle of typing a paragraph and it will freeze for 2-3 seconds, then continue). SO Frustrating! 6. Many functionality apps, such as Voice recorder, notes, etc. which are normally available on iPhone and other phones are not available on this phone without having to download a third party app. These apps are littered with ads and don't work well. PROS 1. Fingerprint reader is fine, which is a nice bonus for a budget phone, but again - it lags and sometimes won't work. 2. Battery life is pretty good. I have had many phones (iPhones, Androids, Motorolas) and I have to say that this phone may be the worst phone I have ever had. Especially in 2019, when there are so many options, and it is basically impossible to live without a smart phone, you will be doing yourself a disservice buying this phone. It cannot keep up and therefore you will not keep up. I would only recommend this phone to those who barely use it, or only need a phone for basic functions (the elderly, children, etc.) Even so, this phone fails to perform basic functions as it will often not deliver text messages, and I am not sure that I would even recommend this phone to anyone. I am very disappointed in this phone. Do not waste your money. I know the price point is enticing, but you will find yourself regretting it later when you are unable to perform basic tasks or receive your text messages.

    Phone is great but...

My first android phone for 7 years and probably my last. The phone is fine but there are a few design flaws. There's no NFC! The hands-free is too loud even on the lowest volume setting. If you are left handed It's easy to accidently hold your finger on the on/off switch when you are on the phone and switch the phone off in mid conversation. The button should be located at the top of the phone. The worst thing is Android and not being able to switch between countries to download apps. For that reason alone I would never buy another android phone again.

This phone is fast, the display is good, design looks great and it has a optimal Android experience. Consumer reports gave it a good score, pointing out that it is durable despite the all glass design.

    WiFi interference

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I owned this phone for only 7 days before returning it . It caused major problems with my WiFi at home. Everytime I would turn WiFi on the phone on, my WiFi on my other devices including the phone itself would stop working. I discovered this after having AT&T come to my house and calling them more than once to fix the problem. They never could find anything wrong. This only happened when trying to connect this phone to WIFI. My other devices and the other phones in the house didn't do this. I researched and found this is a common problem with these phones . After trying to explain this to the employee at best buy, he wanted to argue with me saying it was my network at home even though I had it checked and none of my other devices did this. He ended up letting me exchange the phone for the Motorola X4. If it doesn't have the same issue, then obviously I was right.
