    I needed a phone ASAP and I wasn’t going on a lease plan. Wanted cheap but reliable. This phone is a piece of crap and it’s not worth the money. It doesn’t want to connect or slow internet. I never had a connection with my devices before. Doesn’t provide indications that you have a voicemail message. Sometimes it doesn’t tell me a have a miss call. I had to download another app for that. The audio is either too low or crackling noise. The volume is turned all the way up still can’t hear. Even changed to hard of hearing no success. Doesn’t auto change or advise available WiFi. The keys are too tiny. I have small hands but this is insane The problems goes on and on. Customer support no help. This is my first and last cheap device. Like they say you get what you paid for. Waiting for the holidays for sales. Spend more money to get the Samsung that actually works.

    SD card slot is useless

    Upon insterting a micro SD card, the only option offered on the phone is to format it, erasing everything on it. Should you choose to do so, the SD card will no longer be recognizable by any PC. What's the point of offering an SD card slot if none of your old pictures and movies can be transferred between phone and PC? This is a big misstep for Motorola. I have been a big fan of Motorola since the G series started, and this is a big step in the wrong direction. Go with something else.

    One year in and battery is sporadic

    Loved this phone until a few months ago when I started noticing the battery draining faster than normal. I've done everything under the sun and some days it has several hours on a charge and next time battery goes back to barely lasting three hours. Just now it was fully charged and dropped to 40% in 5 minutes. Pretty much giving two stars because in the beginning I loved the phone. Pretty expensive for a measly year of good use. And funny it's just out of warranty too.

    I'm pleased with this product as a mini-computer, but as a PHONE, it stinks. I expect my cell phone actually to function well as a telephone, and this one is the worst I've had. When using a hands-free device (not Bluetooth) in the car, the sound cuts in and out, like being on speakerphone when it picks up background noise. It's almost impossible for me to talk while driving now. I was in touch with Motorola-Lenovo support about my problem, but they quit answering me a month ago. I give up.

    TERRIBLE Data Rates using SPRINT; Bad Tech Support

    This phone had potential, BUT...the data rates are TERRIBLE. Do NOT get this phone if you have SPRINT. The G7 Play only provides approx. ONE-TENTH the data rate/speed when tested and compared to my Moto 5G Plus and Moto X4, when running the same apps (MYRADAR, Chrome, Google Searches, others) from exactly the same place and having cleared all the applications cache (I live in a good 4G LTE area). In many cases the apps just timed out and locked up! It was SO BAD on data rate I had to exchange the unit with Best Buy and try again with another Moto G7 Play. It was exactly the same bad data rate. When I called MOTOROLA they blamed a Google firmware issue and they blew me off by saying an update would be out in 1 week - that was a lie. When I called SPRINT they said everything was normal - which is ridiculous from an operational customer point of view. When I asked multiple SPRINT reps for real, elevated technical help, like running TRACE ROUTES and PINGS (to locate REAL latency locations and bottlenecks) they said they could not do them! I have also tried the 2 SIMs recommended, neither one provided any better data rate services. I have tried the firmware update and it does nothing (for data rate). The G7 Play is a nice phone only if you want to do voice and text messaging....forget about satisfactory data rate services and forget about REAL technical concern or remedies from SPRINT and MOTOROLA. They will only help you by rebooting and resetting your phone - neither one of them really cares about the performance of this phone as a SPRINT system component. (None of this is a Best Buy issue.)

    Thi is a good phone for places that need unblocked lines or phones. Its an ok phone. It was a little hard to open the chip compartment even with the pin inside the box.

    Fairly good phone. Does everything I need. May give it a better review in a few weeks. Enough differences to the Samsungs I am used to that I need to get comfortable with.

    To begin with they say 5.7" screen why I bought phone but it is not nearly as big as my old phone with a 5.5",it is way smaller. To me they misrepresented this phone. I tried talking to Motorola & Best Buy both on chat about it but both were very rude so nothing was accomplished. I have to use magnifying glass to see the screen on the largest print, I could see jut fine on my 5.5"

    First day screen turned off and would not turn back on. Best Buy in store took it back no problem. Still a good phone, though I had trouble.

    Incoming cellular calls do not reach the phone they go straight to voice mail. Tried factory reset, network reset but to no avail.
