Customers are saying

Customers love the Moto G7 for its budget-friendly price, improved camera, and long battery life. They appreciate its user-friendly interface and ample storage. While some users wish it had NFC and wireless charging capabilities, the phone's slippery design and average sound quality are minor drawbacks.

I bought the Moto G7 to replace a still very good functioning Moto G5 Plus and I am glad I did. You simply CANNOT find a better phone for the money, especially with the 2019 Black Friday w/ Activation deal. The screen is more vivid than the G5 and the camera is finally pretty decent too (the G5 camera left a little to be desired). Great battery life, smooth unencumbered Android experience with "Moto Gestures" that only add to the experience, like "chop chop flashlight" which is extremely useful (who knew). I'm using Nova Launcher to mimic the Samsung interface and if you didn't see "Motorola" at the bottom of the screen you would have thought you were holding a Galaxy S10. Motorola has knocked it out of the Android park yet again. Why? Why would anyone buy a $1,000 phone?? And then to "insure" the phone at monthly revolving rates. I've seen people spend thousands for a phone, only to spend thousands more to insure it. I'm a power user and I don't even see the need to invest in a high end phone that sits perilously at my waist. I considered waiting for the G8, but at this price point it was a no brainer. At a mere $149, I wouldn't cry if the phone was destroyed only three days removed from ownership, even if I had to pay the full $199 retail.

I used to want the latest and greatest. Over time I realized what was important to me. I consume entertainment, I text message, and read and write e-mail. Yes, I also browse the web and connect to cloud-based storage and activities. And yes, I even shoot videos and still photographs. The Motorola G7 handles everything without fail. Is it exceptional when compared to a $1,000 device? No. But have no fear. You won't be disappointed. The sound is clear, the photos are quite good, the battery (although I am not hard on it) starts at 100% at 5 a.m., and is about 50%, give or take, at about 9 p.m. when I plug it in again. Oh, and I enjoy the Moto interactive benefits. I can use the phone as a hotspot for my Samsung tablet. The paring was straightforward and easy. I could say a whole bunch more, but I've said enough. I like the phone and glad I've got it. I'd recommend to anyone for just about any purpose.

I wouldn't consider any other phone except this one for the price. I've owned a different g series every year since the g4. This is theost impressive since the Moto g5s plus. Price, speed and storage you can't really beat for the price and Moto's "shake" flashlight is the best and simpliest perk of these phones

I have been looking forward to getting my hands on this phone since I bought the GS5 and helped my Dad buy his GS6. This phone is seriously fast in application functionality and picture taking. I highly recommend this phone to anyone who is serious about cutting the cord with contracts for high priced phones. Once you go "Unlocked"... You will never go back. The picture quality is outstanding for well and dim lit pictures. It's not a Samsung or Pixel, so the flash will kick in during those really dim shots. The videos come out clean and are not choppy. I'm a huge fan of voice recognition and Google is getting a hang of it nicely. I really don't play games on my phone, do I won't grade it there. If you are a business person or a person who is highly productive and wants some cool flagship like capabilities then this is your phone. Moto gestures are really useful.

This is a good budget friendly phone. Battery last me all day long, lots of internal storage, easy to navigate. Takes good pictures and videos. Haven't experienced any lag on apps. Have been using this Phone since Sept and had waited before writing a review. I would buy again

This is the second g7 that I have owned. Purchased this one as an open box item as a replacement for the original that was stolen, along with my purse and everything else that one might have in a purse. That being said...the culprit was unable to use the phone due to the biometric lock along with keycode. Unfortunately they ditched it and turned it off so it could not be located. This phone is great for the price point. It works well, is fast, takes great pictures, has lots of storage and has a lot of cool features like the more expensive phones do. It has the lightening charger so it charges quickly and you are good to go. That is the only real drawback to this phone, the battery does not last long at all. So you might want to keep your charger handy. Otherwise, it's awesome.

I am a cricket user, but I hate the phones they offer. I love how Best Buy has many unlocked phones for a reasonable price. The Moto G7 has a great camera, decent battery life, and lots of storage. It was easy to set up service.

Great upgrade from my Moto G4!

My Moto G4 was no longer functioning properly as it's almost a four year old phone. I waited for Moto to come out with something that would be great. The Moto G6 wasn't a good phone and so I skipped it. When Moto released the G7, I read the reviews and they were mostly great. I bought it on black friday. Pro's 1. My previous phone had a 5.5 screen while the Moto G7 has a 6.2 screen. Its big and much easier to look at. 2. The Moto G7 has 64gb internal storage but in reality it's only close 50gb. The software is what takes up space. However it allows you to use a micro sd card up to 512gb. So it's great to see Moto still using micro sd cards. 3. The software is almost stock android. Moto has some of their software on it like the Moto gestures. Most of the gestures you'll end up using like the one button navigation, the do not disturb option, double chop in the air to turn on the light or twisting your hand while holding the phone to turn on the camera. They did a great job with the Moto gestures and you can customize them in a number of ways. 4. The processor is also upgraded from my previous. My Moto G4 has a Snapdragon 617 processor and 2 gbs of ram while the Moto G7 has a Snapdragon 632 processor and 4 gbs of ram. The Moto G7 is much faster and doesn't slow down unlike the Moto G4. 5. The Moto G7 has a fingerprint scanner on the back. It unlocks the phone very fast and close to instant. 6. The Moto G7 has a type C port which is great. If you have a computer or laptop and have type C cables, transferring data from one to the other is done quickly unlike the previous phone which can take a long time. Also it comes with a 15 watt charger and recharges much faster than my Moto G4. 7. The phone comes with Android 9.0 pie. Later on Moto plans to release Android 10 aka Android Q. The Moto G7 will most likely get it by next year. 8. The Moto G7 still uses a 3.5mm headphone jack but its located on the bottom. You can use Bluetooth headphone or use the bottom speaker which now uses Dolby Audio. 9. The price is well worth it. I got mine for $200 but even at $300, it's considered to be the best budget phone on the market. Cons 1. The camera app is still OK but not great. I still have problems with the camera app not working like it should. Moto needs to make sure the app is fixed before releasing it to the public. The Moto camera app usually gets 1 to 2 star ratings on Google Play. But you can download other camera apps or manually download the Google Camera app normally only found on the Pixel phones. 2. The camera's are good for regular pictures both selfies or everyday pictures. It's not too good in dim lighting like Pixel, One Plus, Iphone, Samsung, LG, etc. Like I said before, the camera app does crash which is why I use other camera apps as the alternative. 3. The bottom left speaker is quiet when its around 50% but very loud when turned up to 100%. Hopefully Moto will fix this problem regarding the volume sound system. 4. My biggest problem with the phone is the glass back. The back is very smooth and slippery when you hold it. As a result, if you drop it, the glass will easily shatter, damage or destroy your phone. Also because of the glass back, the phone is much heavier than my previous Moto G4. When I finally bought a case for the phone, it felt weighty in my hands and pocket. Hopefully when Moto releases the G8 and future phones, they won't use a glass back. 5. Moto doesn't update their phone quickly and thus takes time before they release software updates and fixes to their phones. You only get one major update which will be Android 10 aka Android Q, which will come out at some point. Overall it's a great phone to buy. The phone is great for the price and has a lot going for it. I recommend it.

Very long battery life. Fast turbo charger. Good camera. Plenty of memory. Plain vanilla Android. I took the T-Mobile SIM card out of the Samsung and it just worked in the Motorola. What more could you want? On top of that, the price was unbeatable.

Great phone overall, had purchased this at a sale price, got two android updates on Motorola phone past Android 9.0, unlike samsung phones that didnt get any updates beyond Android 9.0, not even the security patches, even while on the same cell provider, so in that sense this phone has been a bit lucky. Build quality is great. Although the brightness is not the very best, you can makedo. The camera quality is not very good at all, where samsung phones certainly have a much better cameras. Battery quality is quite good. Overall, for the low price point this is a great smart phone.

I'm absolutely in love with phone. I was being forced to go to a platform I didn't want to be on as I prefer windows phones. Those are long obsolete and terribly supported. I needed a good phone with a ton of Features to make me feel better about switching without dropping a grand on a fashion item (coughapplecough) Anyways this phone blazes through tasks, games, etc. Lots of power and the storage is a decent size for the money. Then expandable to boot. Unlocked for Verizon was as simple as dropping in my nano SIM. The Moto version of Android definitely is nice over a lot of other versions with minimal bloatware. The gesture features are awesome. I love being able to shake my light on or twist my camera on to quickly get it active. Fingerprint season is snappy. Camera is not too bad and I'm very picky as I use my dslr for photos. The screen is excellent for the money. Notch is not bad at all with most of the screen visible. Sound quality is excellent for a down firing speaker. So what's the cons? Entire phone is polished glass. Get a case ASAP! You will shatter this thing. Its so smooth it'll slide on ANY surface. After I popped on a case I felt a lot better. So literately the only con I have is a fixable one with a case. This is the perfect bang for your buck phone. Would gladly buy again.

Great price, full featured phone at a remarkable price. Camera, processing speed, call quality, battery life are all above average. If you need more phone, spend $1000 on the latest Samsung or Apple have to offer. For $300, this phone is outstanding.

So I purchased this before the pandemic expecting to travel overseas and swap out the SIM for a local carrier. Needless to say, I never got to try that out. But I have used it extensively as my main phone. I really like the phone, and I think it is an incredible value for the price. My previous phone was a Moto Z, which I was impressed enough with to stick with Motorola. I will most likely stick with their products for my next smart phone as well. They are very affordable without giving up much in terms of features. I especially think the camera takes fine pictures. The only drawback to these phones is their future resale value, if that is a concern for you.

Bought this, and another Moto G7 to replace an iPhone and Moto G4+. The iPhone quit working, Bluetooth cut in and out, wouldn't connect to Bluetooth speakers, car etc... $1000 worthless piece of apple. Moto G4+ still working, but wanted an upgrade. These phones have motion sensitive actions that are very useful. For example, karate chop with it, and flashlight turns on. Twist it twice, and camera pops up. Does a lot for around $270. At this price, I don't worry if it breaks or gets outdated, I'll just buy another newer version.

The Moto G7 is a great phone at a reasonable price. The display is excellent, the processor is good, and there is no noticeable lag in operation for processor-intensive actions like using the camera. While the camera is not the best for low light, it is very capable for most situations. 4K video is superb. There are a number of camera customizations as well as editing tools. Out of the box setup was easy, I switched out the sim from a Nexus 6 and restored the apps from a Google backup. The G7 charges quickly with the turbo charging system and is pretty much good all day with moderate screen use.

I have only had the phone for about a month, but I really like it. The performance is snappy and the screen is really great looking. Battery life is good. I am not a heavy user, but I easily can go 1.5 days between charges if needed. If I use it a lot, I still go the whole day without having to worry about the charge. The camera takes decent pictures and is very fast to use. Since I bought this unlocked, I do not have any stupid programs that the carriers like to install on it, huge plus in my book.
