I live in an area where Verizon is the only service that gets reception. I had a Moto G5 and had to get a new phone, Best Buy said they no longer carried that and was assured that the G7 was a better phone. I purchased it and it was okay for around 2 weeks then I had problems receiving calls, dropped calls and spotty service. As of now, about 20% of incoming calls are going through, I usually have to end the call and then call them back and sometimes that doesn't work. I called Best Buy and was told they contract with Verizon and I was passed the 14 day return policy and there was nothing they could do. I did find that if I disconnect from Wi-Fi, I can make and receive calls better than when connected and then I have to turn it back on to use the internet. When the time comes to get a new phone, I'll be shopping elsewhere.

Buy this phone. Stop reading all the reviews of all these other phones. If you're looking at this phone then it's perfect. Buy it. You'll be glad you did. Buy this phone.

This phone is awesome. Love the specs. It works great. But you'll end up spending more money on replacing the screen or other phone parts. So in all reality it's not worth it. I dropped it once and the screen and entire back of my phone cracked. Not durable at all. It is very slippery too so you can count on dropping it often unless you can find a good case that has good grip. But phone cases and accessories are very difficult to find for this phone in store.

Solid phone. Worked great until I had to replace it for dumb 5g.

Install the Google camera app to make camera a little better on this device

I'm not a beginner but like some of advance it has better the my other phone have not learned more details on this product yet

Bought this phone with a cricketwireless sim card and does not register on their network, was told by 3 reps there that the phone reads only as a data device. So now I have to switch to googlefi.

The phone is terrible, you get a call and you can't answer it because of all the other stuff coming up on the phone can't answer it. Do you want to do this? Do you want to do that? You can reply you cannot reply you can hold for later everything but an answer button to take the call. It is totally annoying. Then all the updates change everything on the phone that you're used to. They constantly change the calendar and you have to relearn everything to use it. Don't bother with this phone unless you are prepared to be annoyed.

First off, granted I am somewhat hearing impaired so a phone with good or better speakers is mandatory. First off, the phone has just one speaker mounted at the bottom edge of the phone. Since many of us carry our phones in a pocket, guess what, the bottom of the pocket muffles the sound horribly. And when you are conversing with someone, the speaker is totally inadequate. My old Motorola X Pure had a far better speaker.

Bought this phone to replace a ZTE that stopped reading the SIM. I figured, "It a Motorola phone. That brand has to be good." I couldn't have been more wrong. Constant Bluetooth connectivity issues with both my car and my Blue Parrot headset, phone conversations have the other party sounding like they are talking in a bucket and almost not understandable, and trying to use social media is almost impossible (on both 4G and using a cable ISP on wifi) with blank pages and extremely irritating lag times. I've had this phone six days and as soon as I locate my receipt Best Buy is getting it back.

it is looks good, speed good, but Bad reception, net reception often up and down, as a uber driver i dont recommend because we need strong network reception capability for using GMAP and uber app

I purchased this after reading the good reviews and having had moto g 1st and 5th generation phones and been happy with them. I was on my way out of town when I picked up the phone at the store, so I didn't have time to make sure everything was working smoothly but needed a phone that would work for the week I was gone. Unfortunately I got a lemon. The screen would turn black and not wake up no matter what I tried. I couldn't turn it on and off. Several minutes later it rebooted on it's own. When I tried making a phone call, the screen went black once the computer operator answered so I couldn't push a number to go to the next auto dialer. When I received a call later, the screen went black, and I was unable to hang up the call. the screen stayed black for 8 minutes and then the phone rebooted itself. It constantly reboots itself, it won't take video footage, only photos. It will not play music, video or audiobooks. Sometimes it freezes and won't text or download group MMS texts. It has been the most frustrating week ever. Now that I have returned from my trip I will return it, but I hope I don't get another lemon.

Motorola should stick to Walkie Talkies and leave smart phones to the experts. This phone is the absolute worst phone I ever owned. The phone started crapping out on me after about 2 months with people complaining that they couldn't hear me and I had to toggle back and forth from ear piece to speaker just to talk. I complained to Verizon and they sent me another one only for it to happen again after about a month later. I'm now on my third one and yup, only about 3 weeks has gone by and here we are, yet again, with the same set of circumstances with this phone. As they say, you get what you pay for, that's for sure.

WARNING: It won't work on CDMA networks after the Android 10 update. I bought this phone as factory unlocked from Google Fi. I used with Sprint. After the Android 10 update, the firmware won't give an option to update PRL and profile. So I couldn't register my phone with Sprint. I can't even use the SCRTN code. I contacted Motorola and Sprint and spent hours and days with no luck. Now, I switched to a GSM network. Motorola ruined this device with the Android 10 update. If you are Verizon or Sprint or any of their MVNO subscriber, Stay away from the device.

All motorola G7's are not completely compatible with cricket or verizon, and I'm assuming many other carriers. That's why they're so cheap. I know all the carriers and website and even Best Buy says they're compatible, but they aren't fully compatible, and no matter what you do you'll have problems with group texts, and constant bad phone reception on calls. Works if you're really tight on money, but you should avoid these phones if at all possible. Verizon says 4g doesnt work on these phones. I have cricket, and I have constant problems that cricket cannot fix or find a problem. DO NOT BU,Y MOTOROLA PHONES. On top of that the quality is bad anyways. Even with a case they break. I had two G6's before my G7.

I was given this phone as a Christmas gift! I have a Moto g4 which I have loved! But going into it's fourth year of life, my friend decided to upgrade my phone as a gift. Although it has some fine features, I cannot depend on it like I did Moto4. It continually needs rebooted because it loses cell signal. The WiFi connection is very very spotty. I have heard all the excuses, but I put a Sim card with the same cell service in my old G4 and side by side. G4 outshines G7 ......

Purchased an unlocked G7 last weekend. Returned it today. So many issues: 1) No audio/sound when making phones calls. No dial tone -no ringing. Folks could hear me but I couldn't hear them. Audio would work occasionally, audio would work--maybe 4 of 10 times. 2) No sound on videos. Audio would cut out after a few minutes or wouldn't work at all. 3) No audio notification for texts Looks like this a fairly common complaint on support forums. Too bad. I liked my other Moto G phones but this one had to go back.

I’m still in Best Buy and it’s been an hour since this new phones been downloading something. Using their free WiFi Aftermath: it used 2.2 GB (!) of data Ridiculous! Doesn’t read all memory cards (I’ve tried 2 Scandisk cards 32 Gb with 50/50 success rate). It sees a card but won’t format it. Error msg Overall, cheap phone. Price should be around $70. Not intuitive to use. I went back to iPhone 7 Plus
