Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Motorola One Action as a temporary stop gap device after my Pixel died suddenly, and I knew it was effectively "burner phone" quality. However, the only reason I chose it was *specifically for it's inclusion in the Android One program*, which guarantees you will get timely security updates, 3-years of OS upgrades & a "near pure Android OS experience", aka as a minimum of manufacturer crapware bogging down the OS on the mid-grade hardware. I figured I could use the device for a few months until new 2021 high-end devices from reliable manufacturers were available, and I could use the Motorola One Action as a dev/test device into 2022 or longer. BUT, true to form, Motorola managed to disappoint customers again. Recently Motorola announced that Motorola One Action device sold in the US & Canada are NOT PART OF THE ANDROID ONE PROGRAM and WON'T BE UPGRADED TO ANDROID 11. '...Finally, in the case of the Motorola One Action, as units sold in the United States and Canada fall outside of the Android One program, they will not be updated to Android 11." Essentially Motorola lies about the device being an Android One phone. Google was complicit in this lie as Google listed the Motorola One Action in their official list of Android One devices, along side offerings from other manufacturers, like Nokia, etc. In my opinion & experience, NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MOTOROLA unless you enjoy being taken advantage of and lied to.
