Solid phone that you can basically take to any provider. had bought it for my wife. She ended up returning it over preference for iphone. But in my opinion for a third of the price its a very capable phone and has some great features.

    Great phone!

Had the Moto X Pure for almost 2 weeks now...it is incredible!! The dual front facing speakers are great for watching hulu or Netflix. The speed is exceptional. The camera is sharp, crisp, and clear. And yes...it does work on any network, including Verizon. Took my active Micro SIM out, used a Nano SIM card cutter to cut it down, popped it in my new Moto X Pure, turned it on...worked just fine. The best part about this phone...no bloatware! You don't have to deal with all the Verizon or AT&T apps taking up space on your phone.

Only kept the phone for a few weeks before returning. Was laggy, camera was terrible anywhere but outside. Worked awesome at first but quickly bogged down. 16gb is also not enough storage for a phone nowadays.

    Battery and screen problems

I returned my first mxpe due to screen jitter and a light blue strip appearing on the screen every now and then. The new one was fine for a couple of weeks, then the battery stopped holding a charge and drained ridiculously fast. Of course this happened after the 14 day return policy expired, so I will have to deal with Motorola customer service. Hopefully it will be a pleasant experience.

My best buy experience on this was the worst I have had . The replacement insurance 100$ did not cover replacement was told I had to come up with 150$ additional after I dropped my phone. And that it would take 7-10 days to get a replacement. This being a business phone was unacceptable asked for refund of my insurance money no dice . I took my business to AT&T got a new phone for the 150$ best buy was trying to take from me on top of the 100$ I paid initially when I purchase the phone. Have sales person explain everything about insurance so you understand.

    It DOES work with Verizon...

Not sure why reviewer SusieG said it doesn't work on Verizon. I'm posting this on my Moto X Pure and I'm am a Verizon customer. I had the OG Moto X and liked it. This is more of the same only much bigger screen which I really wanted, much much better camera, faster, more storage, SD card slot, bigger battery . Love the turbo charge. I can throw it on for 15min and have several hours of use. Battery still doesn't last a full day. I'm on a lot, take off charger at 5am and by 5pm it's down in the red. Great phone, especially for the price off contract and unlocked for any carrier.

Moto X Pure Edition - Purely Awesome!

I absolutely love this phone! First it comes completely unlocked. You can use it on ANY of the major US carriers (VZW, ATT, TMo, Sprint) and the MNVO's that use their service. Just pop in your SIM card and the phone will work on your carrier! Second, the price for an unlocked phone with very high end specs is very nice! Buy this phone and find a deal on a 64GB microSD card and you'll have more than enough storage to last the life of this device. Just make sure to go into your application settings and move all the apps that you can to your microSD card to conserve internal storage for system apps. This phone has a screen that is nearly as big as the Nexus 6 (5.7" vs 5.96") yet it is not nearly as wide and feels far more comfortable in the hand. The display is beautiful and since it's an IPS panel the color reproduction is better and you can actually see this screen in direct sunlight without any problem. If you're in the market for a great device do not hesitate buying the Moto X Pure! You won't be disappointed!!!

Great phone, great help from Best Buy

What made this phone even better than I thought was the set up provided by Best Buy. I encountered Verizon people who had no idea what they were doing. The best thing about an unlocked phone? When you get ticked off at the provider you walk away for the price of a SIM card (ATT gave me one free). More unlocked phones will put pressure on an industry that is poor in customer service. I was wondering if the phone would be too large. It's not. It works great. With minimal protective casing it shouldn't break. iPhones require a lot of protection. If finger print ID doesn't matter this is the best phone. it also has a great price.

    Excellent For The Price

Excellent Quad HD large screen, 3 gigs of RAM for smooth operation, good battery, splash proof, a good camera (finally - thank you Moto) and the ability to add more memory via micro SD card. Now that carriers are doing away with contracts and discounts on phones, you can now get this phone at roughly half the price of the flagship phones from other makers, but with the same features. Of note: While the Moto X Pure comes with Android 5.1, it will almost immediately update to Android 6.0 once you set up your Google account (or manually check via settings for updates). So you'll have one of the latest versions of Android. It's unlocked and uses the "Nano" sized Sim card (the smallest) so if you're swapping SIMs and yours is of a different size, you may need to ask your carrier for a new one. Last, if you add a micro SD card for more storage after updating to Android 6.0, when you insert it, it will ask if you want to use it as "Internal storage" or "portable storage". Portable storage is the best option for most people - as you can tell your camera to save pics and videos to the card, and save your apps to the phone's internal storage. Otherwise if you choose internal storage, it'll blend your phone's internal storage with the SD cards, and it can create confusing and quirks if you ever try to remove that card (or it becomes corrupt) in the future. Last, battery life is good for most users and should get you through the day, but if not, using the *included* rapid charger will top it off very quickly. Standard chargers are much slower. And as always, please, get a good protective bumper case and tempered glass screen protector for your phone! You won't regret it.
