Excellent Android Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am coming from a Note 5 and LG G4 and iPhone 6S+ before that. I was trying to find a fast, competent phone with great screen and customization options. Apple meets all of these except the customization. Note 5 is gorgeous but RAM management issues and TouchWiz are too much, LG G4 stuttered and lagged. Moto X Pure has bee simply a joy to use. It has a 5.7" screen that is a great screen to use and look at. Is it as great as Note 5 no but it is different technology and honestly it is on par with Note 5 and certainly with iPhone 6s+. It has 3GB of RAM and decent processor and they work fine there is very little to no lag in this phone. I attribute this to pure android which I can't stress enough is amazing. There are no carrier bloatware which honestly bogs other Android phones. LG G4 had so much it was insane! This phone updated to Marshmallow out of the box. The software is great overall. It also takes a SIM card and that is a nice addition. I would strongly recommend getting the 32GB phone. The Card is nice but no replacement for onboard memory. The only downside is the battery. On Marshmallow it hasn't been to bad. Certainly better than the LG G4 but it does drain faster then I would like. Blessedly the charger is a rapid charger and I mean rapid. This is the fastest charging phone I have ever had it charges very fast. I have the black one and the material on back is nice it is fairly grippy, Overall I highly recommend this device. Whatever small hardware items may exist are far outweighed by the pure android experience and no carrier junk. Believe me it makes a HUGE difference.

Best Phone I've Owned to Date
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't see why people would ever complain about this phone in the first place. I own probably every Android product out and this is the best Android phone I have ever owned, here's why. First off, the battery life for me so far has been amazing, people say the battery life is poor but come back and write a review on this phone after doing streaming and whatever else it is you do on an iPhone battery with a much much smaller battery. The screen produces flawless colors and is also much better than the G3 that I traded in to get this phone. The hexa-core processor is FAST. It kills the S6 when it comes to loading, gaming, and multitasking. Blew me away, I have yet to have the SLIGHTEST bit of lag on this phone. The camera is great, not amazing, but great. Better than my previous phone hands down. I would without a doubt recommend this phone to anybody who has a brain, which yes is everybody. Amazing phone, buy it.

Poor basics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While emphasis was placed on a fast systems, they totally forgot that it is supposed to be a phone...in the first place. You can hardly hear the other person without crackles in your ear , I looked it up and looks like there are multitudes of buyers experiencing the same, the suggestion to turn down the volume barely takes those crackles away. It does not connect with other Bluetooth devices easily. I bought it so that I could play apple music on my Yamaha sound system via Bluetooth, like my S4 did, well.... It never worked.

Better MP3 player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to store my music playlists rather than use my iPhone storage. It has micro SD slot for larger data download like movies and other videos.

Sound Problem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall phone is fair but the biggest flaw it has is the sound goes missing while playing videos and have to restart it all over again to fix it.

Excellent value for a wonderful device in 2016
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone a few days ago for around $300 and i love it. I very much like the Moto actions- wrist twist for camera is handy, the flashlight chop took me a while to master but is great. I thought i would miss the knock to wake from my previous phone, the LG G2, but being able to wave my hand over the phone to wake it is just as good- though i miss being able to turn the display off with a double knock but not too big a deal. I appreciate the Attentive Display which is not a feature bespoke to this phone but with its 3 sensors works very well here. The big thing this phone is missing-if i can say anything, for the year 2016, would be a fingerprint reader which for me makes no difference but for some, might. My main criteria with a happy phone upgrade is that it does everything my old phone did but as good or better- never worse, and i can say this phone has fit the bill for me. I bought it new with Android Marshmallow already on it which was an awesome surprise. I haven't had any issues getting through the day with it (battery wise) nor does it get warm from menial tasks such as web browsing - which drove me nuts on the G2. Also, even when the battery gets run down the phone charges FAST fastest on any device i've owned so far, Motorola says 15 minute charge gets you 10 hours and i wouldn't go that far but it will give you a significant % of battery charge- it works better the lesser battery you have left for instance if you're down to 15% and charge for 15 mins you will at least double that and i'm pretty sure even more but i haven't formally tested it and don't want to over quote it. It's VERY fast though. The Micro SD card slot- is fantastic! I was able to get the 16 GB version of the phone- which these days would be a usability nightmare (with android itself @ 6 GB) and have been able to put all my media and the apps i want on the SD card keeping the phone light and fast whilst storing everything i need/want and saving me $$ on admittedly pricey upgraded versions of the phone with higher capacity storage. The Camera- so far, excellent. I am a DSLR user for main photography however i use my cell camera for work as well as when i don't have my main camera, so it is important to me. This will not replace a standalone camera however in day light i have been quite impressed with the results so far. It shoots 4k which my DSLR won't even do and shoots 720p Slow Mo- awesome. In low light the phone struggles but the flash does an ample job. I'm not big on selfies but from what little i've used it, it seems sufficient if not better than average as it includes a flash. This phone includes Bluetooth 4.1 LE, NFC, Wireless AC with MIMO all the good stuff you want for wireless connections. The phone includes the more battery friendly 'version' of the snap dragon 810, the 808. It has 2 fast cores for when you need them and 4 lower power slower cores for battery preservation. I have never, using anything, been left wanting for more processing power. It includes 3GB of ram which is an extra Gigabyte more than my G2, which may not sound like a lot but is 50% more, and it IS noticeable! Where on my G2 if i had a bunch of apps opened and went to switch to one of them (the browser was a big offender here) it would have to completely reload the app. On this phone i have yet to wait for an app to load when switching to it- YES!! these are the things that bring satisfaction in a phone purchase. It's funny but with all the reviews out there on cell phones, so many do not mention the quality of phone calls. I guess that is just a sign of the times. I haven't made many but i haven't had any complaints from who i spoke to nor have i had any issue with hearing anyone, or dropped calls- that's about all i can say on that! Software! It is basically plain Jane vanilla android and that is a GREAT thing!!! None of the bloat and space hogging resource wasting apps that come with phones these days. Just all the apps you need, a few very handy Motorola apps and that is all. This is the first phone i've bought in a very long time where i did not need to spend ANY time deleting spam apps. Display- I can be pretty picky with displays, i tend to notice black light bleed, and dark colors and shades either being boosted and washed out, or dark and lacking detail. The screen here is a 5.7" 1440p display. It is an IPS screen so it isn't immune to the inherent problems with this technology, however i have not seen black light bleed and colors have been lovely and vibrant to my eye. AMOLED will almost certainly be better with contrast and most of the time color, BUT they will not get as bright and there are a few other trade offs including the big one- price. Indoors i have rarely raised my screen brightness above maybe 25%..at 100% indoors the screen is blinding and outside in the Summer sun i can clearly see the screen. Size and handling- For a phone that has a screen half an inch larger than my last phone i did not notice a big difference in usability, oddly enough. The phone has a curved shape on the back from side to side as well as a gradual thickening from the bottom to the top on the back. This shape has proven to be easy to handle and i haven't had any additional problems from the increase in screen size. I would suggest however, for those not used to 5" + screens to go to the store and try them first. So in the end, this phone came out almost a year ago and came down in price and has given me what i need and even a little more. It even included a clear, plastic 'bumper case' as an intermediary protection before you are able to obtain a proper case (if you plan to). This is not a big deal or a big cost to the company but i have literally dropped a brand new phone and damaged it because i had ordered a case online which had not arrived on day 1. I have heard of people cracking their screens on this phone from drops, which isn't unheard of for full front glass featuring phones but should be noted, and is why i am searching for a case and screen protector now. The phone does have Gorilla Glass 3 which from my experience does an EXCELLENT job with scratches but still can crack if not properly protected. So, is this the fastest phone on the market? No. Will all but the most powerest of power users and tech talking reviewers notice? Probably not- and i'm all about technology and speed, though i'm not a big phone gamer so i can't speak to that aspect and you will have to look elsewhere. There are a good amount of phones in this price range, many with similar features, some with better components here and there, but for the whole package, the looks, the feel, the experience, ALL of it, i have NO regret on this purchase.. Now i'm sure i missed something here but i tried to cover what i remember, what i like and don't, from a users perspective anyway and hope i was thorough enough and helpful. Good luck and have fun!

AMAZING PHONE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the Moto X Pure 16GB on 9/18/2015. I had to go out to a Sprint Tech Center to get it connected. Needed a Nano Sim Card to get it setup. Also when entering the IMEI number it needs to have the last digit taken off for Sprint to Recognize the phone. The phone is awesome so far! Very fast and snappy. Idk how the battery life will be... been setting up all my setting and playing with the phone a lot. The charger works great! I'll try to update more if I remember to do so!

Beautifully executed phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I am coming off a Nexus 6P, which has to be one of the world's 7 wonders so that in itself should show how nice of a phone this is. After a series of unfortunate events (car wreck, being shut in a car door, dropped several hundreds of times and squished under my 180 lb frame) my Nexus had finally called it quits and I went into best buy heart broken that I could not afford another $500 phone currently and figuring I'd have to settle for another junky phone to go on my straight talk plan. I searched shelves over and over for something even close. The blu series is lack luster to even say the least, LGs call to unlocked phones is currently not impressive and as for the rest I'm not going to even comment. I checked out the moto g and it just wasn't a very nice in-hand look. Finally I glanced and seen the moto X pure series, right in my price range and looking all to glorious for its own good. I had the very first generation of moto X and I've been in love ever since. I had always said if I had the chance to get another I absolutely would. I checked it over and it's 21 megapixel camera and Google insides made me more than happily carry it to the checkout counter. I will say unlike my previous Nexus it's activation with straight talk was not seamless (though I feel like this has more to do with straight talks low IQ rather than the phone itself). However the fact that I can literally tell straight talk to shove kof and take this phone to any other carrier I want to makeup for any trip ups switching my sim card over. I am one of those people that needs a decent camera, this phone had alot to live up to vs the Nexus 6P. Not surprisingly it blew it out of the water. It's front facing camera also has a flash so it always takes well let photos. Needless to say here , I am very happy with this phone and I wouldnt trade it for any Samsung or LG on the market. Motorola and Google are the mobile monsters on the market right now and working together make for an unbeatable experience. (This phone also functions just like a Nexus, it's most literally a mini version of my girlfriend's Nexus 6.)

Awesome Overall Smartphone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone may not be the super powerhouse like the Nexus 6P in overall raw power but it is close. I have both phones currently and this one is very nice with plenty of power, it has a great camera and expandable storage is definitely a plus

Not for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this phone, after all the glowing reviews on the net. But too many things didn't work as expected, and I returned this within 2 days. - Phone overheats with simple browsing. And the metal frame sends all the warm to the hands. - Camera sensor is good, but can't get a sharp picture with how heavy this phone is. And there is no digital or optical stabilization. HDR mode is not good. Camera app tries to be too simple. - I under-estimated the size and more importantly the weight. One hand use is not always possible and the weight (~180g) makes the phone tiresome to use after a few minutes. And when it is warm, even more. The weight of the phone was enough to drag my pajamas down more than they should. Things that work - Reasonably smooth, no stuttering - Great speakers - Great radios - Good camera (in ideal conditions) - Sturdy phone that doesn't easily catch fingerprints and dust - Good design

Awsome Budget Phone!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very reluctant to purchase due to the price and the display type but could not have been more happier in doing so. My last two phones were iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 so I can honestly say this phone is far more superior in build quality and performance compared to the S6.. The S6 had very poor battery life even when idle I was lucky to get maybe 5 to 6 hours of standby use and 3 hours of average use with brightness at minimum, the Moto X Pure does a great job compared to both the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 with 18+ hours of standby even with personal and work emails syncing. The CPU performance is on par for the 808 processor but yet it seems faster than the S6 and similar in speed with the iPhone 6, applications feel smooth and the UI being pure marshmallow I'm sure this being contributing factor. The camera quality is better than the iPhone 6 and on par with the Galaxy S6 though it does struggle somewhat in low light but it's acceptable. The display quality really did surprise me because I was so use to the S6 and thought I would never find another phone with such rich colors but the differences between the two phones is minimal, could use a better contrast ratio but its not that bad. Overall this phone is well worth the price especially if you pick up the 16GB model for $299 because you can always expand your storage utilizing the Micro SD slot.

This phone works with ALL carriers in the US
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great phone, great size, solid battery life. I also love the sound from the dual front facing speakers! Comes with a bumper in the box, but get a real case to protect it properly. Best Buy's web site says only GSM Carriers, but it works on both CDMA and GSM so ATT, VZW, TMO, & Sprint all work great. Works on all the sub-carriers too - Boost, Cricket, Straight Talk, etc...

Awesome Phone!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is the best I have ever owned. I watched dozens of video reviews on the Moto X Pure and everyone said it was an excellent phone and I have to agree. I even saw one that compared it to an iPhone 6s Plus and the reviewer came to the conclusion that the Moto X Pure was on par with the iPhone. There is one thing that could be better and that is the heavy weight. The construction feels strong but the weight takes a bit to get use to. It's by no means a deal breaker but it is about the only complaint I have about the phone.

Great camera and display
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this phone on the recommendation of Rich, the Best Buy sales guy. We started with the cheapest pre-paid phones, but after discussing my need for good call quality, he recommended this. Pluses of this phone: a great camera, good sound quality, Moto Voice display control, no bloatware, SD card slot to add memory, and unlocked for use on any carrier. Phone is a too big for thumb use (for small hands.) Battery is ok, not great. I try to keep everything turned off to get to last the whole day. The first device kept dropping phone calls while at home which was unacceptable. The exchange phone is working ok so far so took off 1 star for the hassle of the exchange. Can't say enough about Best Buy service. Love that you get no pressure advice (since they're salaried, not commissioned.) Overall, a great phone for the price.
