Bought this phone a month ago to replace my 3 year old original Moto z. First off the original had a "crack proof" screen that made it last a long time for a extreme sport person such as myself. The Moto z4 just shattered the screen a month in from falling out of my shorts pocket and landing on gravel (with a screen protector). It does have a decent battery but lacks other features one would expect at this price range like 5g or a 70o series or hight processor.

I was first excited about getting a Motorola z4 because I have owned one in the past, and it served me very well for a longtime without problems. Unfortunately what is produced today is junk, intended to last only a few months until your money has been squeezed out of the equipment before you need to buy another one. My current moto z4 lost the left audio capability which made it impossible for me to hear any sound from the left side of an attached earphone. I searched online for all possible fixes and it was too strenuous an exercise to look for suggestions that in the end don't work. I cannot use the left speakers of any of my sound equipment that is connected to the phone, and it is not my speakers that have a problem, because they work very well with my other audio appliances. When will manufacturers bring production back to the U.S instead of scamming consumers with cheap Chinese products? It is very annoying when you cannot get any reliable product to work anymore, and manufacturers dodge their responsibilities, give shorter warranty periods (because they cannot warranty the product they sell), and force you to buy extended warranties which in the end are not honored! U.S consumers are screwed!! This phone is not worth your money! Will never buy one again.

Received the phone and case surprisingly fast. Had the phone for about a week and it held up really good, but it stopped working just recently. It fell from about 3 feet off of my office desk on to a carpeted floor and now the OLED display won't work at all. I'm pretty sure it's just a loose ribbon cable, but whoever is in charge of Motorola's QC is doing a pretty terrible job if they can let something like this slip by. I will never buy Motorola again.
