A phone that feels like the future again

I was already a fan of the earlier RAZR with the mini external screen. So when the Memorial Day sale put this newer full-sized external screen model under $300 (a $650+ discount) I scrambled to find any left on shelves within 90 miles. I bought the last one in stock, and so, so glad I did. If familiar with Moto's flagship foldable, you already know how it's unfolded screen is bright, perfectly proportioned, reveals no crease, and steals attention. The satisfaction of snapping it closed is matched only by the utility of its credit card-ish footprint. Performance is above average and little Easter eggs like a screen mode that mimics the Razr's original flip phone appearance from decades ago is a good indicator of how much fun Moto is having with a phone that reminds us how futuristic the first RAZR felt back then, because its 2023 descendant is giving today's smart phones a vital lesson on what's exciting about the future. This phone is just cool, my favorite device in forever. Give it a try

I’ve really enjoyed using the Razr+ 2023 so far. It’s a great-looking phone that feels premium in the hand, and the foldable design definitely turns heads. One of my favorite features is the external display — when taking a picture of someone, they can actually see a live preview of themselves, which makes it super easy to get better photos, especially with kids or friends. The cover screen is also more than just a gimmick — I’ve been able to check messages, use navigation, and even reply to texts without opening the phone. It’s fast, responsive, and adds real functionality. Battery life is decent, and the performance has been smooth for everyday use. So far, no major complaints. If you’re looking for a unique phone that mixes style with practicality, the Razr+ is definitely worth considering. But also get a phone case, soon as possible bc it’s very fragile

Great, very convenient to carry, it's small and when opened it's large! Very fast, it's a phone that competes with any other brand on the market, its screen is great, both the internal one and the external one when folded!

Have had the phone for 3 weeks now...so far battery life has been great, it feels solid, and is relatively easy to navigate the features. Friends think it is pretty cool as well. I appreciate the smaller space in my pocket. I find a larger phone in the pocket hinders my ability to bend down to tie my shoes or pick something up on occasion...this phone doesn't cause that. Picture quality is good. Taking a picture of people is pretty cool in that the people you are taking a picture of can see what YOU see on the smaller screen as the picture is being taken, so they can get an idea of what they look like. The folding action seems pretty solid. This is my first flip phone since the original Razr 20 years ago or more, so I do not have much to compare it to, but I am happy with it. The crease in the display is there, but I don't think there is room to complain about it, as you can only tell at certain angles...looking straight at the screen you can not see it while it is on. My opinion, If you don't want a crease don't get a flip phone. Speaker quality is decent, nothing special even though has Dolby Atmos. One minor complaint I have is that the Android auto connection in my car is delayed compared to my old Samsung phone. It seems to take about 15 seconds or so to sync up or recognize once plugged in. Works fine from there though. I bought the phone on special, 50% price off from MSRP, and for $500 bucks you get a lot of phone. Sure there are better products available, but not sure there are for the current price point. There are not a ton of case options available in store, but Amazon of course has them and the one I purchased works well, is tight, and the functionality is hardly compromised.

This is something I had decided to get at least five months ago, prior to the Z Fold 5's release, after reading a lot of reviews and generally finding consistent remarks about it being a solid phone. After owning it for at least five months, I feel like I can offer it those praises. Inner and outer displays are solid, audio is what you'd expect from something at this price point, and the cameras are solid for what it's worth. I had primarily chosen this over a tablet-style foldable because I felt the smaller size would be better for my pockets, and it did succeed at that (I wear guy pants so I have pockets to work with, but sometimes I'm not wanting to just have a long device fill up most of that space). Bloat's minimal, honestly could be worse. Battery can run me through the day with active use of various applications. I suppose my biggest criticism just comes from the outer display itself. Nothing wrong with it, more so that for the $300 more you'd be paying over the standard model, it's hard to say I've been entirely sold on it. Big pros on that front probably stem from the ability to use the outer display with the camera app. The phone has Motorola's gesture shortcut thingie that allows me to do fun things like double-chop to turn on the flash-light and twist it twice to pull up the camera app. It makes getting quick selfies easily, though the wave action to get the camera to take said picture without touching the screen is a bit finicky to work with. Allowing other people to see themselves in the photo being taken has helped them as well. There's also the fact that I can respond to text messages through that outer display, though understandably the keyboard will take up the entire display to be fully accessible. You only get one line to see what you're typing, so you'll have to be scrolling back and forth if you wanted to proof-read what you wrote. The smaller display with Android's trickiness to do that (at least, compared to Apple's which I find better to work with) doesn't do it any favors here, really. The outer display can be customized between the interface you interact with and the lock screen itself. For the lock screen I use the Moto Moo Time theme because I think that fella looks absolutely funky, and in the months I've had those phone Motorola have pushed out new animations that change through the day-to-day. It's nice to see the guy have a stable 9-to-5 with a train commute, enjoy the weekends, and have a steak dinner among other things. Checking weather at a glance, following up with immediate things to do, and checking the news are the main things I have active on that interface. There is also support for Google fit and Spotify as panels for said interface, and all of those things can have their location modified (this mostly impacts how many swipes you have to make to see said content). You are kind of locked in to having those panels, however, so if you're an absolute weirdo like me who uses Apple Music you don't exactly have an alternative to work with. The cons with the outer display start to roll in when you're really trying to explore the potential of using the outer display (though this particular one's a minor issue). If you want to use an app on the outer display, you'll either have to access the app through a notification or add it to a list through a menu provided in the outer display's interface. In either case, Motorola will push a disclaimer the first time you try to open it saying "Hey, you really, really might not have the most optimal experience using this app" with an option to either proceed, not go through with it, or disallow the app from ever opening on said display. This is generally pretty accurate. I'm not going to pretend that it's Motorola's fault that other app developers aren't optimizing their software for something that two devices on the market have. That's not to say you'll have the worst experience, though. Discord and Telegram are two chat applications I use and both work relatively well. Twitter, Tumblr, and Mastodon all scroll without much fuss and viewing the funny cats people post isn't a pain. Twitch is alright, but obviously you're not going to be having both the live stream itself and chat open at the same time. 7-Eleven's app has a barcode for scanning to get points from your purchases and that's both a slight pain to pull up and near-impossible to actually scan. Best Buy's app is alright, but with the search bar up top and the navigation tabs below always being active it takes away precious real estate. Best Buy's actual employee app suffers this much worse from navigation elements taking up way too much of that real estate, and attempting to do something simple like call out through it is actually impossible (the element that I have to click on doesn't actually show up). Allowing any app to open through this outer display opens a Pandora's box that's annoying to close however, and that's the "Continue" button. Closing the phone shut locks the phone, and by default any app you allow to open via the outer display will be enabled to have the prompt to continue using said app on the outer display. I mentioned before I wear dude pants, so I have pockets to work with. The material used for those pockets causes the display to pick up input. This has lead to a non-zero amount of instances greater than one where I'll have pocket-dialed someone. It's not like I'm prompted to re-unlock my phone either, it just unlocks again through this prompt. To bypass this I either have to wait for the prompt to vanish after a bit, or manually go into the settings for the outer display and disallow the app itself to have that prompt. There's no universal toggle to just say "Hey this feature sucks and I don't want to use it," so I'm legally required to go through every app and say "no" (or alternatively, just swipe up to go to the home screen before closing, but that's an extra input to make in my busy schedule of having nothing better to do). Those all annoyances I can work around, and I don't want the prose I've written to sound like a scathing negative over what's basically a $300 feature (compared to the standard model which lacks the outer display). But as a big part of selling the phone's outer display as a convenience thing, it's not as convenient as I'd like. For me, it kind of kills that novelty aspect and limits what I'd like to do with it as a functional display that I want to interact with. Overall I'd say if you can get the phone for a good discount and you're even vaguely interested in foldables (or just nostalgic about flip phones to begin with), it's not a bad call. You just gotta be ready to deal with the quirks that come with the phone's stand-out feature. Stack Bounce is goated, though.

I really like this phone!! The flip portion is really cool, It's very useful to look at/control Spotify, calendar, messages, emails, weather, notifications, calculator and set alarms, etc. from the outside screen. Battery life is not bad, it's not going to be as good as a full size phone but still plenty and charges SUPER fast wirelessly and with Quick Chargers.lt actually feels very sturdy but I put a Zagg Bridgetown case on it - which makes me feel far more confident using this awesome phone. Fast enough to run all my apps, plenty of storage space to download music and hold all my photos/memes. Good sound quality from the built-in speakers, and the Bluetooth distance is great when hooking up to my portable speakers.

Bought this phone because im required to carry 2 phones. I wanted a small phone with the biggest screen and specs that i could get at a reasonable price. Im an apple person but they discontinued their small phone. After some digging i cam across the Razr+. This thing is amazing. Its fast and the screen and camera are perfect. The moto gestures are perfection. The best feature for me is the outer screen supports 99 percent of the tasks that i have and i dont need to open the phone most of the time. Its amazing. It has that level of innovation to it that I remember of motorola 20 years ago. Well done!

This is my third Razr since the phone's redevelopment and I can't state enough good things about the unit. The Razr+'s cost, operating system, surprisingly great battery life, and its beam-me-up-flip-open ability are frickin' awesome features to have on hand! The phone definitely brings me back to a less techie era when I owned a few models and accessories the original Razr offered. The Razr+ makes me want to find music videos on the tube!! Though the newer Razr+ lacks a few features other flagship phones have, those features tend to be mediocre and, at times, an overkill. These points mentioned, I really don't miss the extra bells and whistles and have become ONE with the new phone's history, nostalgia, and overall coolness. Good job, Motorola and THANKS for returning the great memories from past times and for allowing a guy to embrace the essense of simpler times.

I've seen so many versions of the Razr but have always been hesitant to get one. While I'm a big Motorola fan, I wasn't sure how to feel able a folding touch screen. I saw this phone on sale for a big discount and decided to take the leap. I love the dual screens and compact style. The front screen on the Razr+ model allows me to see notifications and answer calls all without opening my phone. The speakers and cameras are good for everyday use. Just be responsible and avoid getting things like dirt or sand in the hinges of the phone or it's going to be a bad time.

I've been using the Motorola Razr+ (2023) as my personal phone, and I have to say—it’s been a fantastic experience. The foldable design is not just eye-catching, it’s genuinely useful. I love how compact it feels in the pocket yet opens up to a gorgeous 6.9" pOLED display with a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. The external 3.6" screen is surprisingly functional—I use it for quick replies, checking notifications, and even snapping selfies without opening the phone. Performance-wise, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip paired with 8GB RAM handles everything I throw at it—whether it's multitasking, streaming, or gaming. The 256GB storage is more than enough for my apps, media, and files. The camera setup is solid. The 12MP main and 13MP ultrawide lenses deliver sharp, vibrant shots, and the 32MP front camera is great for video calls and selfies. I especially enjoy using the rear cameras with the external display—it’s a clever touch that makes the Razr+ stand out. Battery life is decent for a foldable. The 3800mAh battery gets me through the day with moderate use, and the 30W fast charging is a lifesaver when I need a quick top-up. Design-wise, it’s a head-turner. I went with the Viva Magenta variant, and the vegan leather finish adds a premium feel. It’s a phone that gets noticed—and I’ve had more than a few people ask me about it. Overall, the Motorola Razr+ (2023) is a stylish, powerful, and surprisingly practical foldable. It’s not just a fashion statement—it’s a genuinely great phone that fits my lifestyle perfectly. Rating: 9/10 – Stylish, smart, and satisfying to use.
